Lamont, Stella E. (Heppner) (August 12, 1912 - August 11, 2011)


Stella E. Lamont, 98, Abbotsford, died on Thursday, Aug. 11 at Abby Inn Care in Abbotsford. A private service will be held at a later date.

 

The former Stella Heppner was born on August 12, 1912 in Fond du Lac, to the late Robert and Katherine (Steigenberger) Heppner. She attended Frankfort Country School.


In 1933, she was united in marriage to Malcolm Lamont, who preceded her in death.

 

They owned and operated Lamont's Service Station in Abbotsford and later in Colby, for 75 years.


She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. She enjoyed crocheting, rosemaling, and most of all spending time with her family.


Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Joe) Kremsreiter of Abbotsford; a sister, Bernice Hamilton of Barrington, Ill.; a brother, Robert "Butch" (Rhea) of Maiden Rock; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Lamont of Abbotsford; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren and two more on the way.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James; and three sisters, Kay Schraufnagel, Marie Halverson and Charlotte Borchardt.

 

A private service will be held at a later date.

 

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
