Miss Martha Nitschke is reported to be on the sick list.
Miss Etta Altenburg returned home from Neillsville this week.
Geo. Brooks drove to Neillsville to get his daughters Frankie and Beatrice on Friday.
John Sterle and Alve Riley of Marshfield were guests at the house of E.F. Brooks, Sat. While here, accompanied by Raymond Brooks, they were hunting partridge Saturday and succeeded in bagging a number before their return to Marshfield Sunday morning.
A large number of hunters were out Sunday. Some were fortunate to bag some game while others got none.
Rev. A.A. Sifert delivered a fine sermon and Mrs. Sifert favored us with a beautiful solo last Sunday. There will be communion services next Sunday at the usual hour, 3 o’clock.
Mrs. S.G. Hornbeck of Granton was instructing her music class here last Monday.
Henry Marg transacted business at Marshfield last week Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Nitschke were at Granton Friday on business.
Mr. Davidson of Romadka called on his daughter Mrs. Wm. Sternitzky, Friday.
Ed Lyons, who recently moved here for Divine, Ia., received this week by rail, a large threshing machine engine for that place which he took to Nevis where he is located.
Miss Emma Nitschke went to Neillsville to have some dental work done last week.
Mrs. J. Altenburg visited here parents at Lindsey last week.
Mr. White of Lindsey was a business caller here last week.
Richard Gotter made a business trip to the county seat last week.
The young people enjoyed a jolly husking bee at the home of Ernest Sternitzky Monday evening.
Last week Thursday the young people of this place gave Antone Hogenson a very pleasant surprise party on his birthday. The evening was very pleasantly passed with games and dancing. He was presented with a beautiful necktie box by the Misses Dora, Bertha, Helen and Susie Sternitzky, and Walter Sternitzky.
Those whom we notice going to Granton this week were the Misses Etta and Emma Altenburg, Mr. and Mrs. J. Tremelling, Mrs. J. Altenburg.
Mr. I. Shoudy and Mr. Dutcher of Rockford, Ill., were looking after business in this vicinity this week.
Mr. Crandall was calling on his friend P. Gaden Tuesday.
Tom Wage of Granton while haling hauling milk to the cheese factory here on Monday morning met with quite an accident in front of Max Opelt’s store. His buggy broke down and completely dumped everything on the ground. Mr. Wage was obliged to leave the buggy and get another rig to go home with.
