Aug. Arndt and F. Helm brought in a fine deer Monday, the result of a few hours hunt.

 

Last Sunday ten or more of the sportsmen in Lynn vicinity were out hunting and a large deer was seen by a greater number of them and shot after shot was fired at him by the regiment that was hungry for his meat, but dame nature had made him more keen than man’s eye or weapon for it was said he had been hit many times and he escaped after being more than once routed up.  Ye hunters want to practice on the side of a barn awhile.

 

The Lynn train has changed time again and will leave here at 10:35 and arrive here at 9:15 in the morning.

 

Joe Hoover of Sidney was seen in town Tuesday. 

 

Communion services will be held at the town hall by Rev. Sifert next Sunday.

 

O.W. Becker transacted business in Neillsville Tuesday.

 

Mrs. John Hoover of Sidney visited with old friends and neighbors, making the longest stay with Mrs. Nitschke.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marg were business callers in Neillsville last week Thursday.

 

Miss Mable Brooks came home from Columbia Saturday to her mother who is sick.

 

A ladies Aid society was organize last Saturday at the home of Mrs. Geo. R. Brooks.  A very pleasant afternoon tea was served.  The officers elected were: Mrs. Geo. R. Brooks, Pres.; Mrs. H.B. Holmes, Vice Pres.; Miss Inez Holmes, sec.; Miss Emma Altenburg, treasurer.  The next meeting will be held Dec. 9 at the home of Mrs. J. Temelling.

 

Raymond Brooks spent Saturday and Sunday under the parental roof.  F.J. Baer, the Granton Editor, was a business caller here last Friday.

 

Those who left here last Friday to hunt deer at Withee were henry Marg, Carl and Amos Yankee, Oscar Breseman, C.W. Chandler, Willie Gaden.

 

O.W. Becker called the committee together and held a meeting at his home Sat. in regard to manufacturing butter and cheese.

 

Ferd helm has new siding put on on his house.

 

The young men of our town have organized a basketball team and by the way the way they are practicing will be able to compete with anyone.

 

Mrs. O.W. Becker is entertaining her brother Chas. Timm from New Holstein.

 

Miss Wenzel of Neillsville came over Sat. and gave Clara Gaden a music lesson.

 

Geo. Brooks has bone to Withee to hunt deer.

 

Earl Brooks drove to Neillsville Friday to get Beatrice and Frankie, who spent Sat. and Sunday at home.

 

Henry Yankee left Saturday for La Crosse.  He returned Tuesday and Mrs. Yanke returned with him.  Just a month ago she left here to be treated for a cancerous growth on her limb at the Dr. I.N. Cohen private sanitarium where they found her limb could not be cured and they amputated the leg above the knee.  Mrs. Yankee is feeling good and is in much better health than before.

 

Max Opelt has purchased the Zastrow farm last week for $1000.

 

Willie Opelt is visiting his brother Max.  He came from Antigo last Sunday and expects to stay a week.

 

T.F. Feldmaier, assisted by Mrs. Klein, is putting a new platform in front of his store.

 

Max Opelt and daughter Lillie were Marshfield visitors Monday.
