Court Proceedings (May 1914)
Last week a number of cases were disposed of in circuit court. The case of Henry Speigel vs. Otto Walters was decided in favor of the plaintiff and the jury awarded him $1500 damages for personal injury. This case resulted from the fight the two men had in the spring. A decision of no cause of action was returned in the case of Mueller vs. Schoenfelt, the case of Tisserand vs. Neihus resulted in a verdict for the defendant and the case of Missling Bros. vs. the Yellow River Lumber Co. resulted in a verdict for the plaintiffs. The cases set for trial this week are Owen vs. Schafer, Meir vs. Wisconsin Ry. Light and Power Co., Hauge vs. Darling, Howard vs. Harneck, Fry vs. Halle, Banks vs. Village of Owen, and Sempf vs. Mackay and Lynch.
