Hemp, Augusta (abt 19 Nov 1833 - abt 18 Jun1914)
Mrs. Augusta Hemp was born Augusta Scheel in Germany and at the time of her death was 80 years, 6 months and 29 days of age. She was married to Ludwig Hemp in 1854 and with her husband came to this country in 1871, settling on a farm in the town of Weston. Twelve children were born to them, of which nine survive their parents: Otto, Fred, Adolph, Albert, Ernest, Frank, Tony, Mrs. Aug. Wegner and Mrs. Gust Grap. Deceased was a woman of the type which helped develop Clark County and underwent the hard labor and attendant hardships. She was a Christian woman of high ideals and was generally loved and respected by friends and neighbors. The funeral was held last Thursday, services being conducted by Rev. Brandt at the Globe church and interment being made in the Globe Cemetery.
