Walter Ayer, 78, Route 1, Spencer, and a former Unity resident, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby.  The Rev. Robert Sutherland, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity, will officiate and burial will be made in the Town of Beaver cemetery.  Friends may call at the Funeral Hone beginning Saturday noon.

 

Mr.  Ayer was born May 17, 1981 in the Town of Unity and was married at Loyal Oct 7, 1913, to Esther Wittlinger.  The couple lived on a farm in the Town of Unity and Mr. Ayer also engaged in logging.

 

Survivors include a son, Melvin Ayer, Colby; three daughters, Mrs. David (Lenore) Vanderhoof and Mrs. Owen (Elaine) Hanson, both of Marshfield; Mrs. William (Lucille) Rahm, Spencer; 13 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; and a brother Owen Ayer, Madison, and a sister, Mrs. Dolly Wisnosky, St. Paul, Minn.

 

He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and six brothers.
