Mrs. T.D. Wage was a Neillsville shopper on Wednesday.

Carl Berg transacted business at Chili between trains Saturday.

Mrs. Clare Marsh, after a several weeks visit with relatives here, returned home to Rhinelander Saturday.

W.J. Marsh Dry Goods Co. is constantly receiving new coats for ladies, misses and children.  Call and see the new styles.

Olney Johnson is quite ill with a chronic bowel trouble which confines him to his bed.

Albert Davis transacted business at the county seat one day late last week.

The Misses Ora Converse and Miss Bundy returned from a Neillsville visit Friday afternoon.

Up to New Years, furniture will be sold at cut prices at H.H. Eberhardt’s, Neillsville, Wis.

Will Rogers took to the woods Monday, going to spend the winter there.

Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Wage delightfully entertained some half dozen couples at a 7 o’clock dinner Saturday evening.

Miss Ora Converse accompanied Ed Stratton to Black River Falls Monday for a several days visit among relatives and friends there.

Miss Ethel Stockwell took Thanksgiving dinner with her sister here and left the next day for a visit with relatives at Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. John Wright enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at T.F. Lee’s and John just more than filled up on roast turkey with dressing and chicken pie.

Principal Fred Drescher spent several days of last week with relatives on the Ridge.

Miss Dora Stallman returned home Saturday after spending several weeks at Herman Henning’s in Chili.

You will find W.D. Stillman, the detist, located at Granton in the office formerly occupied by Dr. Soles.

Mr. and Mrs. Clouse of Loyal were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Page here Saturday.  Mrs. Clouse’s mother, Mrs. Mack, returned that day from her visit at Hixton and accompanied them to Loyal that evening.

Thos. Burdick was very ill last week, suffering with neuralgia and a complication of diseases.  He is not exactly well yet, but he is a whole lot better.

The Misses Dora and Bertha Sternitzky left for Chicago Monday evening where they will spend the winter with their sister, Mrs. Adolph Pusheck.

J. Nonhof came up from Sheboygan County Monday and is spending the week with his brother Al and other relatives.

Rev. Seifert delivered a Thanksgiving address here Sunday afternoon to a good sized audience and Miss Carrie Thompson favored the congregation with delightfully rendering a vocal solo.

Frank Hubing of Athens, who was married at Cashton last week Tuesday, arrived here early Saturday morning with his bride and made a several days visit at Geo. Beavers’, leaving for Athens Tuesday morning.

Eddie Davis transacted business down the line on Monday.

Ernest Lee went to Madison last Friday where he expects to spend the winter in the Agriculture College.

Wm. Lambrecht of Augusta, who had been here visiting his daughter Mrs. Gereke for the past 6 weeks, returned home Tuesday.

Mrs. Ernest Hantke left for La Crosse Tuesday, going for a winter’s sojourn among relatives and friends there.

Robert Jackiscli and Bessie Beeckler, two "Pointer" were home over Thanksgiving, going by Stevens Point on Monday.

Miss Gertrude Holmes came up from Stevens Point late last week and enjoyed turkey with the folks at home.

Mrs. John Wright entertains the Circle and all the friends next Wed. at 6 o’clock supper.  Everybody is welcome.

Mike Hughes Sr. transacted business here and made us a pleasant call Monday.  This is the first time Mike has been in town since he bought and took home his binder last summer.

Ed Stratton of St. Paul spent the hunting season in this neck of the woods and at the close of the season spent several days in visiting among relatives and friends here, leaving for Jackson County Monday.

Mike Shay, a bachelor well known to many of our readers, is at St. Mary’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls where he expects to spend the winter in being treated for erysipelas.

Miss Maggie Hughes came up from Stevens Point last week Wednesday and made an over Sunday visit at home.  Maggie was accompanied by 2 young lady friends, residents of the Point, who returned with her on Monday.

Geo. Hart pays 8 cents for green hides.  Call at the meat market.

Some 2 weeks ago C.M. Osgood fell over a milk stool in his barn and went headlong into a partition, putting out his left arm to save himself he suffered the pain of breaking it in the lower arm near the elbow, but he was unaware of the seriousness of the accident, only learning that the arm was broken when consulting a physician in regard to it 10 days later.

Harry Ober had so far recovered from his recent illness on Thanksgiving day as to be able to be about on the street and to have enjoyed a good dinner on that occasion, since which time he has made daily appearances down town.

H.L. Wheelock, who owns an unimproved farm north of here, and who at present is engaged with clearing thereon, made this office a pleasant call Monday, subscribed for the News that he might keep abreast of th world, though in bachelor quarters off the turnpike.

A goodly number of our young people attended the Thanksgiving dance at Chili, among who were Frank Tompkins, Loren Snyder, Chester Finnegan, Roy Wright, Adolph Drake, Charles Chapel, Dan Donahue and the Misses Ora Marsh, Callie and Hazel Downer, Katie and Mayme Donahue, Alma and Mollie Grasser, and Louis Sultrecht.

Rev. Mallory came up from the Point Wednesday.

N.E. lee purchased a handsome new cutter of Rausch & Page Monday.

New windmill at Billie Hughes’, L.H Howard sold it there last week.

Geo. Beeckler came down from Glidden late last week and returned Monday morning, taking back with him some 7 heavy teams for work in the woods there.

Grandma Kissam, who was visiting at R.C. Beecher’s, awoke about 2 o’clock Monday morning in considerable pain and felling very ill, since which time she has been suffering with pneumonia and been confined to bed at the R.C. Beecher home.

L.S. Davis came home from his studies at Stevens Point Wednesday evening of last week in plenty of time for the big Thanksgiving dinner at W.S. Davis’.  He stayed over Sunday, but we only caught a glimpse of him as he was taking the train Monday morning back to the Point.  "Well", Lou says, "the fact of the matter is I’ve stayed pretty close to home folks and have enjoyed some might fine east among them."

The Downer-Converse hunting camp suspended operations with the expiration of the hunting season.  The members, i.e. Frank Converse Noble and Neil Downer and Will Campman arriving home in due time to enjoy the Thanksgiving spread in their respective homes.  They were fairly successful, securing a deer a piece, but bill Schwartz and L.E. Schnare were The Hunters of the season for they got all the law allowed, two apiece.

Harry Davis, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis, is the proud and happy owner of "Jennie", the well-known and only burro in town, purchasing her last Saturday.  He had had her on trial for the past 2 months and during that time she has gained 200 pounds in weight and so thoroughly ingratiated herself with him that he could not think of parting with her.  She has as comfortable a home as she has ever known and is not only much beloved by Harry, but with his sisters Francis and Stella, is a great favorite.
