Kennedy, Mary (NOV 1905)
Thursday, Thanksgiving day, the air seemed strangely laden with a subtle something which evaded our most persistent efforts at comprehension and when the same sweet air again filled our nostrils Monday evening we conned to ourselves, "Old Boy, there is something doing" and our intuition led us depot-ward. Well we were rewarded, for there was Bill Brewer and one of the feminine gender looking love into each other’s eyes. Bill togged out to kill, elegant lien, stand up collar with Vandyke points protruding at some considerable distance over his overcoat collar and the catchiest little green bow tie; oh but Bill with that "cute" mustache of his and that love sick and those fine clothes couldn’t fool us. We scented a wedding and Bill says: "That’s it, went through here Thursday and was married at Marshfield and came back that night and we’ve been to her folks’ ever since. We’re going home to Neillsville now." We were pained at the thought of Bill’s first wife’s early demise, but Bill assured us that she was not dead, but had just quite him. So he and Mrs. Mary Kennedy have launched out onto life’s matrimonial sea.
