Pleasant Ridge (30 July 1914)

Mrs. Tom Counsell will entertain the Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon, Aug, 5^th.

There was a good crowd at the Aid at Mrs. Ed Huckstead’s, $9 being taken in.  No. 17, held by Miss Sadie Blackman, drew the quilt presented to the Aid by Mrs. Sarah Selves.

Mrs. H.O. Huckstead and daughters, Dorothy and Ruth, went to Black River Falls Friday and came home Monday afternoon.

Mrs. S. Root spent part of last week with her sons at Minneapolis.

The three Howard boys, with their mother and aunt, Mrs. Blackman, autoed to Marshfield Sunday to see Len Howard.

Geo. Wilding and wife, Jesse Wilding and wife and Mrs. Willard Gerhardt autoed to Marshfield Sunday to see Mrs. Arthur Wilding.

Mrs. James Baker of Levis spent a few days with Mrs. Ed Huckstead last week.  Mrs. Montie Wren went home with her Friday and returned Monday.

Mrs. Waterpool and daughter are at Fairchild this week.

Aleada Brown is working at Geo. Wilding’s.

Lettie Slocomb is at Mrs. George Howard’s this week.

Mrs. Martha Brown of Buffalo, New York, came Saturday to visit her sister, Mrs. Sarah Selves.

Mrs. Clayton Vine is visiting her mother at Pray.

Mrs. Geo. Vine had a quilting party Tuesday.

Eva Counsell spent part of last week with Florence Huckstead.

Geo. Swann and family autoed to Taylor Saturday and returned Sunday.  They brought Mrs. Chris Jensen home with them for a visit.

Clifford Blackman is helping re-shingle Jim Hughes’ barn.

Helen Short spent part of last week at Joe Counsell’s.

Edna Snyder is spending this week with her cousin, Nina Selves.
