Jack Lowell continues very ill though slowly gaining.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilding were in town shopping last Friday.

 

Edward Schroeder transacted business at Marshfield Saturday.

 

L.S. Davis came home from Stevens Point Friday night.

 

H.G. Graves of York transacted business here on Tuesday.

 

Dame Davis of North Dakota arrived here late last week on a visit to relatives and friends.

 

W.S. Davis and family spent Sunday and Monday at Neillsville at J.A. Kimball’s.

 

Geo. Fraser of Chili came over last Friday and stayed until Tuesday, the guest of friends here.

 

Peter Stallman of Marshfield came over last week Wednesday and visited relatives here until Sunday morning.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Rice Davis entertained a large company of relatives at their Christmas dinner Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Amidon entertained a few friends at dinner Christmas.

 

Kearney Davis was so rushed with work at his shop last Saturday as to have had Fritz Neverman of Neillsville here assisting him.

 

Miss Hope Marsh came over from Marshfield Monday and is spending the week here at her father’s.

 

Rudolph Jackish of So. Stillwater, Minn., arrived here Saturday morning, to remain auntil after the holidays with relatives here.

 

Earl Marsh and Milton Page left for the S.M. Marsh bungalow on Tuesday where they are enjoying their school vacation.

 

The Misses Gladys Free and Ethel Stockwell came over from Neillsville Monday and are spending the week with Mrs. F.J. Baer.

 

Miss Bessie Wright, who is teaching at Withee, arrived home last Saturday noon to remain until after New Years, expecting to return to her school duties on Tuesday next.

 

Dave Garbush was seen among the Christmas shoppers at Neillsville last Friday and returned here on the afternoon train laden with bundles and packages.

 

Fred Drescher and his cousin Miss Drescher from the Ridge left here on the midnight limited Friday for a 2 week visit with Sheboygan and West Bend relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Page, Mrs. Dan Rausch and son Wallie, and Mrs. Wm. Storm were some of the Granton folks who did shopping at Neillsville last Friday.

 

Chas. Beeckler left for Waldo Sunday night for a ten day visit with a son and daughter and an only sister who resides there.

 

Mrs. C.D. Stockwell and daughter Bernice came over from Marshfield and partook of Christmas dinner with ye editor and family.

 

Aug. H. Riedel, Mrs. James Finnegan and daughter Ethel, Mrs. John Fuller, Mrs. Sid Davis, Wm. Schwartz, John Mahn, Chas. Brooks, Milton Page and Earl Marsh were Neillsville shoppers late last week.

 

Bessie Beeckler and Robert Jackish arrived here Saturday morning, coming up from the "Point" to spend the holidays at E. Beeckler’s and enjoy X-mas dinner at H.B. Holmes’.

 

Frank Tompkins left early Monday morning for Rhinelander, expecting to reach there in time to enjoy his Christmas dinner with his brother Rob and wife.  Frank has employment on the Soo with headquarters at Rhinelander.

 

Carl Reichert transacted business at Neillsville on Tuesday.

 

H.A. King and family drove out and partook of Christmas dinner at W.C. Fulwiler’s.

 

Mrs. F.J. Baer made a business trip to Neillsville Tuesday on account of some abstract work.

 

Earl Sherman and Albert Paulson came over from Nasonville and attended the Christmas dance.

 

The Misses Celia Hubing and Gertrude Howard were over from the Ride for Christmas.

 

Miss Lettie Paulson of Nasonville was the guest of relatives here on Monday, returning home the next day.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Will Short and children were over from Marshfield to spend Christmas with Ridge relatives, returning home Tuesday.

 

The Ladies’ Aid of the Lutheran Church of Rev. Hass’ parish meets with Mrs. Aug. Teatz a week from next Wednesday, Jan. 10.

 

Mrs. Chas Wiesner has been very ill for the past week, threatened with pneumonia.

 

The Misses Pearl and Lula Hallock drove to Loyal Tuesday and visited a cousin there.

 

Rob Glass, Ira Wolff, Gustave Deutsch and Chauncey Owen were among the Neillsville people seen on our streets Monday.

 

Miss Emma Hoffman, a sister of Mrs. Wm. Storm of this place, was married at the home of her parents in Globe on Monday to Otto Kalsow.

 

W.W. Page and family, and Chester Finnegan drove down to the Ridge Monday and enjoyed Christmas dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Walker Page.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lapp, Miss Carrie Krause and Mr. and Mrs. Al Young came down from Wausau last week Wednesday expecting to spend Christmas with relative here, but unexpected circumstances developing necessitated their returning home late last week.

 

The N.E. Lee home was the scene of a delightful Christmas gathering.  The R.C. Beecher, John P. Kintzele, Price Lee, Levi Morris, H.J. Pietenpol and Geo. Nichols families meeting there and enjoying the Christmas feast prepared and spread by Mrs. N.E. Lee.

 

Lost: by E.A. Graves, last Sat. night at L.E. Schnare’s store or between there and Gerlach’s, a common black silk neck tie with gold rimmed pin about the size of a half dollar with wife and baby’s picture therein.  Finer will please return same to this office or L.E. Schnare’s store.

 

The Christmas dance given by Wm. Schwartz Monday night was a most delightful affair.  The crowd was just large enough to fill our big hall comfortably.  The floor was in perfect condition, the music excellent and with a good and wide awake caller and attentive floor managers we enjoyed the best of times.

Ed Waterman of Shortville drove up with a veal calf for Fred Davis Teusday, a 150 pounder.

 

Nathan Dubes and Fritz Garbush will be on the telephone line directly.

 

Most delightful weather now, but sleighing is punk.

 

Don’t forget the New Year’s dance at the opera house Monday eve, Jan. 1, 1906.

 

Miss Allie Canfield is home on vacation after the holiday rush at Kemmeter’s store.

 

Theodore Reese of Marshfield was a guest at the Forest House Monday and Tuesday.

 

Geo. Rose and family came up from Plymouth last Saturday to spend the holidays with his brother W.D. Rose here.

 

Mrs. H.A. King will entertain the Circle and friends next week Wed.  A cordial invitation is extended to all.

 

Louis Callender drove up from Black River Falls, arriving here Sunday, and is spending the week among friends.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Mose Blum of Stanley came down Sunday and spent Christmas at Albert Porath’s, returning home the next day.
