Olsen, Louis (? - 12 November 1910)
City Clerk Louis Olsen of Abbotsford was shot and killed while hunting in the woods near Mellen last Saturday, by an unknown hunter. Olsen was walking along a road near Penokee when he saw a man come out and point a gun at him. He threw up his hands and shouted, but the man shot him in the lung and then fled. Olsen’s companions came up before he died and heard his account of the shooting after which they went to Mellen and aided in the organization of a posse to search for the slayer, who if found, will probably be handled somewhat roughly. Mr. Olsen wore a red coat and cap and he hunter’s carelessness is therefore inexcusable.
