William D. Hinker, 60, Greenwood, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. Private family services will be held at a later date.
William Dean Hinker was born on May 24, 1951, in Marshfield, the son of Sylvester and Barbara nee Pink) Hinker. He was raised on the family farm and received his education St. Mary’s Parochial School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1969. He took over the operations of the family farm after the death of his father, and continued farming until selling the land to Bushman Enterprises in the mid-1990s. He continued to live on the farm and work for Bushman Enterprises until2004, at which time he went to work for Weather Shield, in Greenwood, until its closing in 2009.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, particularly the Hinker family reunions on the home farm, and loved deer and bear hunting, watching sports, bowling and playing softball.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, JoAnn (Lester) Kaiser, Hewitt, Gene (Marilyn) Hinker, Loyal, Ronald (Audrey) Hinker, Wausau, Francis (Corrine) Hinker, Marshfield, Allen (Sandra) Greenwood, and Robert (Donna) Hinker; three sisters-in-law, Marlene Hinker, Greenwood, Sharon Hinker, Cape May, N.J., and Carolyn Hinker, Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews, oher relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Larry Hinker, Jerry Hinker and Jim Hinker.
