Maki, Mariann (1971?-10 AUG 2011)

 

Mariann M. Maki, 40, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at home with her husband, Oskar, at her side. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial was in Clifford Finnish Cemetery, Brantwood.

 

She was born to Edwin and Donna Maki in Tomahawk. She grew up on a dairy farm in Brantwood and graduated from Prentice High School in 1988. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in education from UW-Stevens Point. She loved teaching children and worked for the Spencer School District as a 4K teacher, where she made many friends.

 

Oskar and Mariann wed in 2003. They loved to travel and have been to many different countries. She enjoyed gardening, movies, volleyball, line dancing, country music and spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime Girl Scout member and Girl Scout leader in the Spencer schools.

 

Survivors include her mother, Donna Maki, Brantwood; her six siblings, Richard (Chris) Maki, Prior Lake, Minn., Barbara (Steve) Johnson, Brown Deer, Karen (David) Foytik, Phillips, Bruce (Donna) Maki, Prentice, H. Brian (Kathy) Maki, Wausau, and Mark (Patty) Maki, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Maki, and one niece and two nephews.
