Agnes I. Bloom, 85, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Neillsville Care &Rehab, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial followed in the Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Agnes Irene Olsen was born on Aug. 9, 1926, in the town of Unity, rural, the daughter of John and Frieda (nee Rohloff) Olsen. She was raised on the family farm, received her education at Pleasant Ridge country school and graduated from Loyal High School in 1944. She then worked for her aunt and uncle, Hazel and Bill Rohloff, doing domestic work. She married Glen Bloom on July 19, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. They raised their family and farmed northeast of Loyal, until retiring and selling the farm in 2000. They moved into Loyal and have resided there until the present time. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and was very active in Adult Fellowship and the TLCW. She also was a 4-H leader for several years. She had many interests, but especially loved knitting, crocheting, crafts, quilting, painting, collecting teddy bears, playing the piano and organ, and traveling. She was a very gifted seamstress.

 

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Glen, Loyal; two sons, John Bloom, Loyal, and Paul (Karen Mary Mattison) Bloom, Livermore, Calif.; one foster daughter, Cindy (Kevin) Syryczuk, Lublin; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virgene (Vern) Dahlby, Loyal, Oral Gilbertson, Spring Green, and Bonnie (Marv) Marg, Neillsville, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law, Nordeen Gilbertson.
