Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church for Louis C. Bremer, who died last Thursday, Nov. 8, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. His death followed a paralytic stroke suffered on Sunday morning.
Mr. Bremer was born in Ocheyedan, Iowa, December 24, 1886, and operated a grain business in that state.
He was married to Mae Hemphill, July 15, 1908, at Spencer, Iowa. They moved to Loyal in 1919 and resided on a farm north of here until 1941, when they moved to Milwaukee. In 1953 they returned to make their home in the city of Loyal.
Te Rev. John Pfohl, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiated at the funeral services. The hymns, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "The Old Rugged Cross," were sung by Mrs. Romaine Rossow, and the congregation sang "Abide With Me." Carol Noeldner was organist.
Pallbearers were William Essex, Lacey Philpott, Harry Voss, Ray Scherer, Claude Catlin, and John Bannach. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mr. Bremer is survived by his wife, one son, Elwood, and one daughter, Mrs. Raphael (Florence) Haas, Loyal; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a step-father, C. G. Shell.
Those from away who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Roth, Son, Virgil and daughter, Rita, and Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Catlin, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hemphill and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hemphill, Milford, Iowa; Mrs. Catherine Hemphill, Spencer, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Don Roth and children, West Bend; and Mrs. George Roth, Unity.
