Chili (9 December 1910)

Winter seems to be here for good now.

The Chili Star Band will give a basket social New Years’ Eve with a little social hop to follow.

A little baby girl made her appearance at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Malamphy.  Through this their first grandchild, Mr. and Mrs. A. Martin are now grandfather and grandmother.

Harry Eide expects here in the near future 9 carloads of hay. That will feed a few cows during the winter and keep the price of hay down some.

Miss Lillian Yorkston has opened a dressmaker shop at McNaul’s home.  She will be able to fill the wants of Chili and surrounding country in the line of dressmaking and sewing.

Christmas Eve will be celebrated her at the M. E. Church with a program and songs by little children and grown folks. Everybody is invited to attend.

Clark Waterman is taking a day off and is cutting wood with his father to put up the year’s supply.  He is getting such an appetite that his mother has to watch him at his meals so he won’t eat the plates to finish his meals with.

Degener has some splendid spring cutters on hand. Come and see them.
