East Lynn (16 December 1910)

Henry Retzlaff delivered some hogs to Chili Monday.

Rudolph Spicer left for the northern part of the state where he intends to spend the winter in a logging camp.

All kinds of things will happen, said an old farmer when his wife eloped with a cow.

Louis Knoop helped A. Pusheck move an old log building from what is known as the old Quicker place.

Henry Dietrich made a business trip to Marshfield Tuesday.

Fred Grade and Henry Jensen had some cattle dehorned last Friday.

Herman Jensen is busy delivering some more wood to Peter Jensen his father, who resides near the village of Lynn.

We are of the opinion that the man who first said it takes all kinds of people to make a world knew what he was talking about. Some people can take a joke without laying up any hard feelings, while others can only enjoy one when it comes at another man’s expense.  But give them a little for their own money and they will shrink and shrivel and sometimes froth at the mouth.  We are referring to a man who went to Minnesota some time ago and got lost in St. Paul.  Surely we are not to blame for that.  If there is anything in the East Lynn news that does not agree with his constitution we will be much obliged, if he will kindly inform us instead of going to Chili and inquire who that E. L. fellow is, that he may seek sudden and swift punishment upon him.  We will admit that a N. P. C. that will go out of his territory for a few extra items ought to be killed outright, but bear with us a little longer.  We do not pretend to be a saint ourselves, far from it, but live and let live is our motto.  When that little package of Peerless comes we will distribute it broad cast and everybody will be glad.
