Berlick, Ruth Iola (2 May 1918 - 30 August 2011)
Ruth Berlick, 93, of Neillsville died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Ruth Iola Paulson was born May 2, 1918, in Granton the daughter of Ross and Maude (Raymond) Paulson. She attended and graduated from Neillsville High School and then worked as a telephone operator. She was untied in marriage to Norbert Berlick June 15, 1940, in the Town of Lake. For 23 years Ruth worked as a nurse’s aid at the nursing home in Neillsville. Her hobbies included traveling, antiques, quilting, playing cards and trips to the casino.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and their Ladies Aid in Neillsville. She loved baking cookies and making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Betty Berlick of Marshfield; three grandchildren, Deborah (Jim) Varsho of Marshfield, Sandi (Ron) Anderson of Marshfield and David (Kelly) Berlick of Appleton; four great-grandchildren, Jamie Berlick of San Diego, CA, Austin, Peyton and Carson Berlick of Appleton; and two step-grandsons, Glen and Tynan Anderson of Tomahawk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert, in 1981; a son, David Ross Berlick in 1988; and three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Ruth were held at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 3, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Judith Anderson-Bauer officiated. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton.
Casketbearers were: David Berlick, Jim Varsho, Ron Anderson and Austin Berlick.
