Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Pietenpol spent Sunday at Nathan Dubes.

Miss Mary Grasser spent several days of this week with the Misses Lena and Laura Riedel.

We say Mrs. Burdick’s pumpkin pie at 10 cents can’t be beat.  Give her an order and be convinced.

Mrs. R. Braatz and daughter were in town engaged with shopping on Monday.

Little Agnes Marsh went home with Mrs. F.D. Riedel Monday afternoon and stayed very contentedly until the girls brought her home the next day.

Fred Gerber had the misfortune to ge an index finger hurt in the Moldenhauer mill Monday, necessitating medical attention.

The Ladies Aid of the Lutheran Church in Rev. Hass’ parish will meet with Mrs. Henry Yankee Wednesday afternoon.

Miss Bertha Garbush of Neillsville came over on Saturday morning’s train for a visit with her brother in the town of Lynn.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Keddel have agreed to disagree and live apart.  Mr. Keddel left for unknown parts (in so far as she is concerned) last week.

Ruby, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hoganson, has been seriously ill for some time, though considerably better now.

Mrs. Gus Riedel and son, who have been at the Bachman Hospital on account of an operation on one of the lad’s eyes, returned home from there late last week.  The operation was highly successful.

About the middle of last week Mrs. John Mahn with two children and in company with grandma Mahn, returned from a several week pleasure trip and visit at Milwaukee.

Miss Lillian McGinnis came down from St. Paul Monday and spent a day here with her friend Mrs. C. E. Beeckler, leaving for Loyal on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Noble Johnson of New York City arrived here last week Thursday on a visit to Noble’s father, Olney Johnson, who is very ill.

Will Geisler and Richard Gotter, who have spent the last few months at Madison in attendance at the dairy school there, returned home Friday morning.

Loren Snyder, Neil Downer, Vernie and Roy Wright and the Misses Ora Marsh, Bessie, Hazel and Callie Downer drove out to Chili Saturday and enjoyed the dance there that night.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Holland and children of Allegheny, Penn., arrived here Friday morning response to the telegram that Mrs. Wilhelmine Handt was very ill.  Mrs. Holland is a daughter of Mrs. Handt.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hantke are expected home from their wedding trip this Friday afternoon and a week from this evening they will be glad to see all their young friends at the opera house in attendance at the dance they are giving at that time.  They are making preparations for a very enjoyable evening, having engaged good music.

Last Saturday morning Mrs. Josephine Lapp and Mrs. Hank Lapp started out to drive to Lindsey on a visit to the latter’s sister.  Mrs. Jos. Lapp had the reins in hand and in turning the corner at Dr. Schwarz’s, the cutter was upset and both women thrown out, the elder Mrs. Lapp (Jos. Lapp) sustaining some severe bruises and ugly cuts about the face, but neither woman was seriously hurt, both arising unassisted.

Sam Cook transacted business in town Monday.

Richard Braatz transacted business at the county seat Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Davis and children drove down and enjoyed Sunday with Neillsville relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Cornelius drove out from Neillsville Sunday and spent the day at A.J. Knorr’s.

Truman Davis went to Chicago last week on business for Kurth & Davis.

W.P. Budge, Thode Davis and Wm. Schwartz took in the sights at Neillsville Saturday.

Mrs. A.J. Knorr entertained the Circle and friends Wednesday eve, and the occasion was a very enjoyable one.

Messrs. Sidney R. Davis, noble Downer and Webb Winn were at Neillsville on business Saturday.

Mrs. Dan Gluch Jr., who recently underwent a serious surgical operation, has so far recovered as to have been able to sit up some early this week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Wright went to Neillsville Saturday for an over Sunday visit at A.B. Marsh’s.

The German class under the tutorship of Prof. Fred Drescher is making great progress this winter.

Mrs. C.F. Beeckler will entertain the Circle a week from next Wed., Feb 14, St. Valentine’s day.

S.R. Davis, A.J. Knorr, E.A. Beeckler and F.J. Baer attended a meeting of R.A.M. at Neillsville Tuesday night.

Phil Hales, who had been home on a visit to his parents and best girl here, returned to Augusta again last week.

Mrs. F.D. Riedel and daughter Laura were guests at Wm. Foemmel’s one day last week.

F.J. Baer and family went to Neillsville Saturday and remained over Sunday, the guests of relatives and friends.

Miss Addie Davis, substitute for Albert Mabie, rural letter carrier No. 4, acted in his stead Tuesday while he made a prospecting trip in a northerly direction.

M.C. Thomas of Washburn drove up on business Wednesday.  He was accomapined by hiw wife and Mrs. Chas. Babcock who pleasantly while away the time with Mrs. Ed Schroeder.

The Gates Concert Co. is the attraction at the Neillsville Opera House Monday eve, Feb. 5^th.  This is a notable number of the Lecture Course and a very meritorious entertainment.

Noble Downer accompanied Jack Lovell to Neillsville Monday.  Mr. Lovell went down to consult Dr. Carl Bachman as regards his diseased foot and we regret that the Doctor could not offer him more encouragement concerning it.

Flavel Warner, E.A. Beeckler and Nathan Dubes can now be rung up at any old time, for they’re on the telephone line since Monday.

Kearney Davis is having brick hauled, ready for the erection of a brick building, a barber shop, on the lot recently purchased of A.J. Knorr.  Work will be begun thereon as soon as the weather permits.

Rella Osgood, Hale Davis and Miss Ora Cole drove to Withee Sunday.  The boys drove back and reported for duty all right Monday morning but Ora stayed for a more extended visit with her friend  Miss Bessie Wright and returned on the evening train Tuesday.

Truman Davis and T.F. Lee made a business trip through Globe, Greenwood and other places in a search for horses which they wished to purchase.  Truman bought a fine span of colts from a party living near Globe.

A.J. Knorr will leave for Chicago this morning, expecting to put in a couple of days there and return by way of Milwaukee in time to attend the Hardware Men’s Association meet, probably being from home a week.

Rev. Hass is suffering with a severe cold.

Two cars of stock were shipped to Chicago last week.

Willis Williams is loading 4 foot wood at Lynn for Chas. Brooks.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Nonhof drove out and spent Sunday with friends near Marshfield.

Mrs. and Mrs. Ross Paulson drove out to Nasonville Sunday with Mrs. Hans Paulson Sr.

Miss Lulu Beecher went to Spencer Tuesday for a day’s visit with Dr. and Mrs. F.A. Soles.

Dora Wage took the train for Chili last Friday.  She went over to attend a party there that night.

John Pietenpol and family, Truman Davis and family were Sunday guests of T.F. Lee’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rausch spent Sunday at Nasonville with Chris Paulson and family.

Mrs. Edward Schroeder and baby Charles spent much of last week with relatives at Shortville, returning home on Saturday.

August Renne and James Clark of Nasonville visited at the T.D. Wage’s Sunday.

Rev. and Mrs. Carl Pohlman of Nasonville were guests at Chas. Neinas’ Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Retta drove out and visited at Reinhold Guk’s Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. kempin of Chili were guests of town friends Friday.

Mrs. Rice Davis is decidedly ill.  Her indisposition of last week proved quite serious this week.

Miss Grace Converse is ably assisting Mrs. John Wright in her household duties this winter.

Myron Osgood mourns the loss of his prized fox hound.  It is thought it came to its death through eating poisoned meat meant for wolves.

Bolts and logs are being brought to town daily.  A perfect string of teams can be seen on our Main Street almost any time of day.

Sheriff John Dwyer transacted business in town Saturday.  It seems that a snare had warranted the arrest of one of our worthy townsmen.

The interior of Dr. Schwarz’s home has been decidedly improved within the past 6 weeks.

Ernest Crevecouer has the contract for building Fred Gerber’s home this spring.

F.D. Riedel is now on the telephone exchange list.  He had a phone put in Monday.

Alex Preston of Appleton spent Friday and Saturday of last week here with A.J. Knorr.

Rev. P.H. Hass went to Birnamwood Saturday and returned on Monday.

Miss Dora Stallman visited friends at Chili Saturday, enjoying the dance there that night and returning home on Sunday.

Edna Kemmeter, who was attending school at Menash, unexpectedly greeted friends here Saturday.  She got homesick, so her father had her come.

Gardner McLaughlin went to Madison Sunday to be with his wife who is at a hospital there and who underwent a surgical operation on Monday.
