Mrs. Maria Dewhurst and Mrs. R. Dickinson started on Wednesday for the former’s orange grove in Florida where they expect to make an extended stay.

 

Miss Jean Munroe of St. Paul, who had been visiting at H.M. Root’s for several weeks past, returned home yesterday.

 

Mrs. O.P. Wells, who for months past has been so seriously ill with stomach trouble; in company with Dr. G.E. Curtis and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Clark, went to Eau Claire Monday where at the hospital she will receive medical care and treatment.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hantke entertained friends at a 6 o’clock dinner Saturday evening.  The last of the guests departed shortly after midnight.

 

Mrs. C.C. Sniteman and Miss Minnie Tolford took advantage of the nice weather early this week to enjoy a long drive together.

 

Miss Lulu Hommel continues ill at Clarinda, Ia., sitting up last Sunday for the first time in 10 days.

 

The Misses Anna Jacques and Katie Mick entertained the North Side Cinch Club last evening at the home of the former.  A jolly time and good "eats" were reported.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Fricke and daughter were Greenwood visitors Sunday and Monday.

 

Julia Kurth was a Sunday visitor at Merrillan.

 

Just received a letter from Horace Chase of Dallas, Oregon, in which he states: "I am keeping bachelor’s hall at present, and doing the cooking for Lannie and myself.  My wife is away out to Bob’s eighteen miles from here, by rail.  She went out there two weeks ago and will have in all probability two weeks longer.  Had a letter from her today and she said that Bob was daddy to a 6 ½ pound boy, born Jan. 22, 1906.  Ollie is foreman of a construction gang on the railroad.  Lannie is running a jewelry store and he has lately added a line of fancy china ware and is doing a good business."

 

Miss Rose Braun left Thursday for Colorado for a three month visit.

 

Wm. F. Wood ward and wife spent a few days at Eau Claire the latter part of last week.

 

C.W. Chubb of Lynn  was a Neillsville caller Friday.

 

Mrs. Fred Simpson left Sunday for Fresno, Calif.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krause returned to their home at Milwaukee after spending a few weeks at Mrs. Julius Tragsdorf’s.

 

Dr. Karl Baker of Greenwood was a Neillsville caller Saturday.

 

R.M. Jenks of Loyal was here on business Saturday.

 

Dell Potter was home from Fairchild to spend Sunday.

 

Chas. Southard has returned home for a few days visit.
