Max Opelt transacted business at Marshfield Monday.

Jim Hiles of Dexterville was a business caller here and also Romadka last week.

John Martin took a load of grain to Neillsville the latter part of last week.

A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the home of Herman Riedel Sunday to take part in celebrating the christening of their little daughter.

Raymond Brooks came home last Friday from Marshfield and found awaiting him a large number of friends to surprise him on his 18^th birthday.  A very enjoyable time was had by all.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Yankee, Mrs. Chas. Bass and Mrs. Robert Krause drove to Loyal Friday to visit relatives.

A number of young people enjoyed a party at A. Viergutz’s Sunday evening.

Chas. Foster of Marshfield transacted business here several times in the last week.  He has purchased wood of Aug. Arndt and has been busy shipping it.

Otto and Alvina Klabunde, who were guests of their aunt Mrs. F. Grassman for some time, returned to Wausau last week.

Chas. Yankee, who has been making cheese at Pleasant Ridge, has returned home again.

Henry Grassman, who had been working at Rib Lake, returned home Saturday.

Mrs. Robert Sternitzky has been visiting relatives at this place the past week.  Robert arrived Saturday, visiting with his parents over Sunday.  They both returned to their home at Junction City Monday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Arndt and family visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sternitzky Sunday.

The Misses Ella and Sarah Lautenbach and Emma Arndt were visitors of Mrs. Henry Marg last Saturday.

Miss Lizzie Klein has been helping her sister Mrs. T.F. Feldmaier with her sewing for a number of days.

The presiding Elder Hate and Rev. A.A. Sifert held a meeting at the Holmes schoolhouse last Saturday and report a good attendance.

Geo. Brooks transacted business at Loyal this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Thompson and children were callers in Granton Sunday.

Mrs. S.G. Hornbeck was instructing her music scholars at this place Saturday.

Mrs. Libbie Altenburg has gone to Lindsey to be at her home while her sister has an operation performed for tumors on her neck.

Mr. and Mr.s E.F. Brooks drove out near Neillsville to spend Sunday with Mrs. Brooks’ father.

Ward Elwood of Lindsey was a business caller here Tuesday.

Little Louvilla Sternitzky, who was sick with stomach trouble for some time, is able to be about again.

John Rude spent Sunday at his home in Neillsville.

Anton Hogenson was a business caller at Granton Saturday.

Henry Sternitzky, secretary of the Lynn Mutual Fire Insurance Co., has been doing a rushing business in the month of January.  His mail consisted of 3,000 pieces and it kept Uncle Sam’s hired man busy hauling it away.
