East Lynn (23 December 1910)
There will be a Christmas program in school house of District No. 2 Friday evening.
C. Guk and A. Lindow were seen going south last Sunday, the latter being armed with a hatchet and the former with a butcher knife. What object they had in view is not known, but it is rumored that they are either going to join the revolutionists in Mexico or inspect the Panama Canal. Their journey so far must have been a peaceful one as have not heard of anybody getting scalped.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Retzlaff and daughter Laura attended church in Fremont last Sunday.
Joseph and Gilbert Sternitzky sawed wood for A. Pusheck and H. Dietrich last Saturday.

In the wee hours of last Thursday morning when the full moon was casting its silvery rays over this beautiful landscape and nature looked on in all her splendor, Mr. Stork was again hovering over this community and when he made his appearance between the hours of eight and nine accompanied by Dr. Ross they presented to Mr. and Mrs. H. Dietrich a 9 pound daughter. As a little girl had been their hearts desire and when they realized that their wish was granted their cup of happiness was full to the overflowing. Mother and baby are doing well under the tender care of Mrs. Montgomery, their nurse.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guk took in the sights at Chili last Friday.
Mrs. Fred Zuehlke did shopping at Chili Tuesday.
Dr. Ross of Granton called at Hy Dietrich’s Tuesday.
James Quicker drove to the southern part of the township Monday after a few Christmas trees.
