East Lynn (30 December 1910)

There is an excuse for almost everything, but when a good looking young man will take a pet cat out riding when the country is full of pretty girls and a few old maids we think that is not only inexcusable, but almost beyond human endurance.  A case of this kind happened in this neighborhood one day last week when a young man drove to Chili and thinking he might be lonesome took his pet cat Tuesy with him and when he arrived at Chili he turned her over to the Justice of the Peace to protect her from Elchlipp’s black dog that has a quarrelsome nature.  We would advise this young man to select a companion that is more able to protect herself.

The A. Puscheck family spent Christmas at Ernest Sternitzky’s.

The Christmas program in the school house last Friday evening was attended by a large crowd and enjoyed by young and old.  Much credit is due Miss Nora Riedel, the teacher, for her painstaking efforts that made the event one long to dwell in the minds of her pupils and ought to be entitled to the parents’ everlasting gratitude.

W. Neinas and family of Sauerkraut City spent Sunday at R. Guk’s.

Karl Omhold who is employed at Harry Eide’s cheese factory in Fremont took a trip to Chicago to visit his sister.

Mrs. Montgomery returned home Tuesday after a two week stay at H. Dietrich.

E. A. Webster of Fremont who has been visiting at Brule took suddenly very sick on his return home Tuesday.
