Dan Hughes, principal of the North Side School, and David Milbrath, assistant high school instructor, go to Humbird this Friday evening as judges in an oratorical contest which takes place there tonight.
Rev. Joseph Volz of Menomonie visited friends here between trains last week Thursday.
Mrs. Scott of Shawano (born Maggie Ross) and little daughter arrived here Monday evening on a visit to relatives.
Grandma Mead, who for years past has made her home at Robert French Sr.’s, died there about 4 o’clock Sunday morning as the result of pneumonia and advanced age.
Miss Florence Lowe was at Greenwood Friday to attend the concert given by the Miss Lucy Lowe and Miss Mabel Bishop there.
Miss Daisy Glass left for a visit at Milwaukee and other palce, Tuesday.
Miss Anna Jacques leaves for Milwaukee Thursday to prepare for the spring millinery trade.
Hugh Campbell leaves Thursday for Madison
Helen McIntire entertained a few of her friends at a doll party Tuesday afternoon.
Miss Mabel Bishop of Greenwood is visiting at Joe Lowe’s for a few days.
Edwin Wolff and sister Lona expect to leave on Saturday for Sheboygan where they will make a short visit.
Miss Laura Glass entertained a few girlfriends Tuesday evening.
Miss Blanche Crocker left Thursday noon for Madison to attend the Junior Prom there this Friday evening.
Miss Lucy Lowe returned to Abbotsford Tuesday morning after spending a few days at home.
Harry Gates came up from Milwaukee Wednesday to attend the Valentine party here. Miss Anita Bruley will return with him to attend the Charity Ball at Milwaukee.
Bessie Frantz and Miss Giles of Merrillan spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of the former.
Lida Cannon, Ella Ketel and Amelia Deutsch returned to their schools near Loyal last Sunday.
Mrs. Reineking and sons Albert and Gustave of Wausau are visiting relatives and friends in this city.
W.R. Happe was a business caller here Teusday.
John P. Kintzele of Granton was over on business Monday.
The music pupils of Miss Amelia Imig met at her studio Friday evening Feb. 9, and organized the "Beethoven Study Club" which will meet the second Friday of each month. For a motto they chose the sentiment of Beethoven "Music is a higher manifestation than all wisdom." Class colors: cardinal and white. Each meeting will include a lesson in theory, the biography of one of the great composers, and a musical program. The officers are as follows: President, Jessie Wolff; Vice President, Katie Wasserburg; Secretary, Ellen Lueloff; Treasurer, Clifford Stowell. At this the first meeting the life of Hayden was studied, after which the following piano recital was given:
