Bronson, Clara (21 FEB 1906)
R.B. Johnson, the only brother of the Mesdames L.A. Marsh and S.R. Davis, was married to Miss Clara Bronson of Stevens Point last week Wednesday. The following was taken from the Stevens Point Daily Journal of the 22nd inst.:
"A very quiet wedding took place at the home of Thos. Bronson on Crooked way at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening. The parties were Rollie B. Johnson and Miss Clara Bronson, both well-known young people of this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M.N. Ray of the Episcopal church, the only witnesses being the Bronson family. The marriage of Mr. Johnson and Miss Bronson was not anticipated but the announcement that it had actually taken place and that they had succeeded in slipping away without the knowledge of their friends, some of whom "wouldn’t have done a thing" to the groom if they had known what was going on, came as a great surprise. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson took the 2:30 train for the south, but did not inform anyone of their destination. However, it is anticipated that their trip will be a short one, Mr. Johnson’s duties at the bank requiring his personal attention. Mr. Johnson has been a resident of this city for many years, being connected with the Citizens National Bank since it was first organized, and is at the present time cashier of that institution. He is a very popular young man and one in whom the people have great confidence. Miss Bronson is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bronson and has made this city her home from early childhood, and where she has many friends."
