Mr. L.O. Wakely came to town the other day, smoking his old clay pipe and incidentally left some sparks fly into his wagon box and but for the timely assistance of our here Mr. Degener, who notice the conflagration and got a pail of water, quite a serious fire was prevented.
Mr. Dillingham, son-in-law of Dr. L.W. Berry from Marinette, is in town.
Rev. Pohlman’s decision to go to Canada is final, as he goes tomorrow. His wife and children are going to Winona till the Rev. is settled in his new home, Lemburg, Canada.
H.H. Henning is doing a lad office business selling farm machinery.
Mrs. N. Christman’s sister Ada is visiting the Christmans.
Geo. Waterman is painting his buildings.
Mrs. Londgren is contemplating selling her property and going to sell her household effects at auction next week.
Mrs. Geo. Young, we understand, is again on the sick list.
Mrs. O.L. Cline from Emwood, Wis., wife of former agent here, is at present visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Koser.
The church services last Sunday were held by the deacons of the church, Rev. Sifert not showing up.
School commences next week with Miss Anna Young as teacher.
