Fischer, Henry (7 OCT 1869 - 14 APR 1906)
The death of henry Fischer which occurred Saturday, April 14, 1906, was a shock, not only to his relatives but to the community in which he resided. He was a strong man and was enjoying the best of health until Sunday previous to his death, when he suffered from the effects of a cold. Medical aid was summoned, but it rapidly terminated into pneumonia and death came without warning Saturday noon. The deceased was 35 years of age and was born in Waukesha Oct. 7, 1869. He moved with his parents to the town of Brillion where he grew to manhood, and June 22, 1897 was united in marriage to Mary Leikel of Potter, and came to Hewitt where he purchase a farm. They remained there until 1900 when he removed to Chili where he bought a larger arm and since then to the time of his death he resided there. He was a man of cheerful disposition and noble character, and made friends wherever he went. He was a devoted husband and father, and one who always enjoyed his comfortable home, a kind and obliging neighbor who will be greatly missed by everyone. He is survived by a wife, one son, Walter, and a daughter Viola, also four sisters, Mrs. Wm. Bartz, Mrs. F. Richter, Mrs. M. Neipling, Mrs. C. Buddinger and two brothers, George and William, to mourn his untimely death. The funeral took place Tuesday and was largely attended, Rev. F. Hauck of Neillsville conducted the services and the remains were laid to rest in the Chili Catholic Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
