Kluhsman, Gwendolyn "Gwen" D. (25 MAY 1921 - 7 NOV 1999)

 

Gwendolyn "Gwen" D. Kluhsman, age 78, of Hatfield, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

 

Gwen was born on May 25, 1921 in Eau Claire to the late LaRoy C. and Charlotte (Flood) Bunce.  She graduated from Black River Falls High School.  Gwen married Frederick C. Kluhsman Sr. on July 16, 1942 in Neillsville.  She was the owner of Gwen’s Gifts and was a tour guide for Thunderbird Museum, both in Hatfield.  Gwen was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Wis. Historical Society and the Homemakers Club.  She loved ceramics, painting china, dancing and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

 

She is survived by her children, Michele A. "Micky" (Jacob) Wertz of Bryan, Texas; Patricia J. (Melvin) Gall of Merrillan, Wis.; Frederick C. (Donna) Kluhsman Jr. of New berlin, Wis.; Richard L. Kluhsman of Butler, Wis.; grandchildren: Seven, Melissa, Andrew, Jason, Dean, Darin, Todd, Erika and Britney; great-grandchildren: Amana, Jessica, Cara, Emma, Melanie, Jacob and Joshua; sister, Beverly Reshel of City Point, Wis.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Sr. and brother, LaRoy Jr.

 

Memorial services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999 at Grace Lutheran Church in Alma Center with the Rev. Ricky Bertels officiating.  Family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment was in Hatfield Cemetery.  Evergreen Funeral Home, Eau Claire, assisted the family.
