Alfreda and Irma Williams were Neillsville visitors, Monday.

Earl Fraser of Chili spent Saturday here with his brother George.

Clay Converse transacted business at Neillsville Tuesday.

Albert Sternitzky lost a valuable horse late last week.

The stock buyers will ship calves and cattle next Tuesday.

Elliot Martin a piano tuner of Stevens Point is here this week.

A fine boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Willis Williams Monday night.

Ed Schroeder sold his farm in Washburn to Joseph Dillman of Neillsville, a real estate agent.

Professor Wells and Gustave Deutsch spent Sunday with friends at Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fraser were over Sunday guests of relatives at Chili.

W. S. Davis and family spent Sunday at his brother Frank’s in Heathville.

Leonard Cole came up from Eau Claire and made an over Sunday visit to relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Degenhardt of the Town of Loyal drove over last Saturday on shopping bent.

Mrs. Mary J. Huff came down from the W. P. budge farm last Sat. and remained until today in her town home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fradenberg of Humbird came over Saturday and remained unto Monday evening, guests at Fred Hart’s.

Mrs. Ethel Zschernitz is assisting Mrs. Huff with her household duties at the W. P. Budge home.

Geo. Rowe of Marshfield took Monday afternoon’s passenger train here, for home, after visiting relatives at York Center.

Mrs. John Wright spent Saturday with relatives at Neillsville and on Monday joined her brother S. M. Marsh and family there and left with them that day on their trip to Tavares, Florida.  She expects to be absent a month, at least.

J. A. Martin transacted business at Neillsville Monday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb Winn are both indisposed and under Dr. Ross’ care this week.

Mrs. S. G. Schwarz entertained the Circle ladies Wednesday afternoon.

Vera Snyder of Neillsville was a guest at the D. S. Rausch home Tuesday and Wednesday.

Vivian Ure of Neillsville was the guest of friends here and in attendance at the dance Tuesday.

Anton Ebson of Marshfield came over and participated in Tuesday night’s dance.

Mrs. F. J. Baer and Mrs. C. E. Beeckler spent Wednesday with Mrs. Albert Sternitzky.

Fred Wright bought a fine driving horse of Henry Winter last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Galbreath left for Lone Rock, Wis., Tuesday, where they will spend some time visiting relatives.

M. Jordan, after visiting his brother Loyal at Heathville returned to Union Center Tuesday morning.

Miss Frances Weiland of Marshfield was the guest of her friend Miss Elsie Riedel Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Frei and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Storm spent Sunday at John Speiser’s in Lynn.

Miss Mae Roberts who teaches at Wonewoc came up last Saturday and spent a couple days here with her twin sister Miss Myrtle Roberts.

O. F. Sampe, the Chili cheese and butter maker and local photographer transacted business here last Friday.

Ethel Stockwell, Alice Neverman, Veda Wood and Mary Rude came over from Neillsville Tuesday for the dance.

J. A. Ross of Gilbert Plains, Canada, a brother of Dr. P. M. Ross arrived here last week and will spend some time with the Doctor and family. 

Wm. Schwartz came up from Elkhart Lake last Saturday to call on old friends.  He left for home again Monday night. While here he purchased a driving horse which he shipped to Elkhart Lake Monday.

Mrs. Lange and little daughter of Lebanon have been visiting at Rev. Reiff’s since last week Thursday.  Mrs. Lange is a sister of Mrs. Reiff’s and used to live at Loyal.

Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Amidon entertained a few of their friends at a card party Saturday evening.

Mrs. Leroy Pierce after a several days visit with Mrs. Eva Canfield returned home to Neillsville on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eide passed through here Monday behind the old iron horse, enroute to Neillsville.

Richard Kurth and Elmer Dennis transacted business at the county seat on Monday.

Julius Reisner of Rose Bud, Mont., after a weeks visit with is brother Wm. and other relatives in the Town of Lynn, returned to his home last Tuesday.

Mrs. G. E. Amidon and daughter Elva went to Eau Claire Wednesday on several days’ combination business and pleasure trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Davis and little daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Chapel of Marshfield spent Sunday here at the Geo. Hart home.

Dog gone the luck anyhow.  Kearney Davis shot at a woodpecker the other day and hit Homer Downer’s dog instead, the bullet piercing one of his front legs.  It is too bad - that he didn’t kill him.

Hank Pietenpol left the hospital here early this week, having recovered sufficiently to be returned to his home.  One of his toes had to be amputated last Friday.

John Hefty came here from Fairchild late last week and returned there on Tuesday. He has made arrangements at Chili to establish and conduct a meat market there after March 1^st.

A number of the late Oscar Fricke’s friends here attended his funeral which was held at Greenwood, his old home, on Monday, and saw consigned to Old Mother Earth, one of the best beloved of this county’s sons.

E. R. Wonser, Dan Rausch, W. S. Davis, G. E. Amidon, Floyd Winn, Ed Schroeder and Gustave Deutsch wee among the Masonic brethren who went to Neillsville Thursday evening of last week to attend a meeting of that order.

Horace Vandeberg took the train here last Friday for Milwaukee and other points in the southern part of the state, where he expects to spend some time among relatives and friends.  He will also visit his brother in Chicago before returning.

Fernand Johnson’s little three year old son while in play with his next older brother who was wielding an ax one day early this week, suffered a serious injury to one of his fingers which may result in the amputation of the injured member, for at this writing it is sewed in place with some six stitches and doesn’t promise well.

Friends of Joseph Marsh, who has been spending some time at his plantation at Jonesville, La., have received word that last week he fell and sprained his ankle.  It is learned that Mr. Marsh suffered his injury in a most peculiar way.  He was occupying a second floor room in the new house that has been built on the plantation, and walked out on the top landing of an out side stairway, around which a railing had not yet been built.  The night being dark, he walked off and fell with some force to the ground, sustaining the injury to his ankle and also bruises which are undoubtedly painful. - Marshfield News
