Dwyer, Robert (4 August 1891 - 28 January 1963)

 

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Bergemann Funeral Home for Robert Dwyer, 71, of Neillsville, who died Monday night at the Veterans Hospital in Madison after a long illness.

 

The Rev. Jacob Grether of Neillsville will be in charge of the services.  Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Mr. Dwyer had been ill for several years and entered the Veterans Hospital about a month ago. A veteran of World War I, he was born in Neillsville August 4, 1891, the son of Frank and Julia Dwyer.  He attended public schools in Neillsville and took an electrical course at the University of Wisconsin.

 

He enlisted in the army on June 14, 1918, and was discharged at Camp Grant, Ill., on January 3, 1919.

 

On June 25, 1919, he was married to Ruth Weast in Colby.  He engaged in the electrical business in Neillsville until 1950, when illness forced his retirement.

 

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gareth (Janice) Bollom of Neillsville; a son, Robert, Jr., of Milwaukee; his mother, Mrs. Julia Dwyer of Neillsville; and two grandchildren.
