Eggiman, Ray (29 September 1899 - 31 January 1963)
Funeral services were held Saturday in the United Church of Christ for Raymond Eggiman, 63, of 306 E. 9th Street, Neillsville, who died January 31, in Memorial Hospital following a long illness. The Rev. W. C. Koehler officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Eggiman was born September 29, 1899, in Neillsville, and was the son of the late Fred and Barbara (Brunner) Eggiman. He attended Neillsville schools and for the last 34 years had been employed by the Clark County Highway Department. He had been ill since 1961.
On September 20, 1923, he was married to the former Florence Zastrow, who survives. Other survivors are: a son, Robert, with the Marine Corps in Beaverton, Ore.; four half-sisters, Mrs. Sadie Gress of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Ray (Freda) Wattson of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Rose Hopkins of Waukesha, and Mrs. Frank (Edith) Plummer, Marshfield; two sisters, Mrs. Art (Helen) Tews of Neillsville and Mrs. Allen (Sylvia) Reynolds of Waukesha; a brother, Walter, of Sun Prairie; and two half brothers, Ernest Knoble of Marshfield and John Eggiman of Boring, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Marvin Hemp, Eugene Christie, Herbert Kurth, John Bryan, George Church and Ted Dux.
Mrs. W. C. Koehler sang, "What a Friend we have in Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
People from out of town here for the service were: Mrs. Rose Hopkins, Waukesha; Mrs. Frank Plummer, Jack Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knoble and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Knoble, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Warren G. Plummer of Madison; Walter H. Eggiman of Sun Prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Plummer, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Coyle, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Coyle, Barbara and Kenneth Coyle, Granton.
Fifty men of the County Highway Department from all cities in the county attended in a body.
