Yorkston, Leslie (29 June 1891 - 4 February 1963)

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church for Leslie Yorkston, 71, of Neillsville, who died Monday in Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since suffering a heart attack Friday. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer officiated and burial was made in Windfall Cemetery, Granton.

 

Mr. Yorkston, son of the late William and Katherine (Breseman) Yorkston, was born June 29, 1891, in the Town of Lynn.  He received his education in the Lynn School and was a graduate of the Northwestern Business College.

 

On May 27, 1918, he entered the army and served in World War I.  He was stationed at Camp McArthur, Tex.  He received his discharge in March 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

 

On June 16, 1920, he was married to Neva leach in Granton.  They lived there for 10 years and then moved to Neillsville in 1929, where he was affiliated with the Neillsville Bank.  He began work with the First National Bank during World War II and retired in 1950.  He was a member of the Methodist Church.

 

Mr. Yorkston is survived by his wife; a son, Robert of Milwaukie, Ore.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Gilbert of Neillsville.

 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Bergemann Funeral Home.
