Emil Krause visited Freeman Dankemyer at Chili, Sunday.

Leland Davis and Herman Wegner spent Sunday morning at Marshfield.

Rolla Ledger of Marshfield was a New Year’s Guest at Joe Goebel’s.

Henry Eisenhart and family went to Humbird Saturday evening on an over Sunday visit among old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas and daughter Lydia went to Humbird Saturday for an over Sunday visit with friends.

Geo. Hazelhuhn enjoyed a several days visit last week from his mother and sister who were down from Rice Lake.

Barney Hansen of Strum came Saturday and spent several days with Eugene Crandall and family.

Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog Jr. and daughter Mabel came down from Greenwood Saturday for a visit at Grandpa Wm. Schlinsog’s home.

I will grind feed at my place the first and third Tuesdays in each month - Geo. Frei.

Mike Grasser is O.K. again, having recovered from the injuries he suffered in a fall 2 weeks ago.

Miss Selma Kuechenmeister returned to Stevens Point Sunday after spending Christmas here with her parents.

Louis Mahlich of Rozellville, after a several days visit at his uncle Mike Grasser’s, went home Sunday.

Hilda Kurth of Neillsville attended church at Rev. Reiff’s Sunday morning and spent the balance of the day at Clemens Kuechenmeister’s.

Mrs. Budding of Sparta, after a visit at Jos. Rondorf’s, went home Friday.

Ralph Palmer, after a several week visit at J.B. Daughhetee’s, went home to Richland Center Friday.

Ralph Marsh has been on the sick list ever since Christmas Eve, suffering with tonsillitis and the grippe.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lowery and son Ivan of Richland Center, after a visit at Chas. Lowery’s, went to Augusta Friday.

The Misses Cleo Daughhetee, Bessie, Vera, Pearl and Haidee Beeckler, Amelia Trimberger, Laura Gerzemehle, Lillie Handt and Helene Baer visited friends and relatives at Neillsville last Friday.

Miss Martha Kretschmer went to Marshfield Friday.

C.A. Guth of Athens, spent Tuesday here with old friends.  L.A. Reichert of Chili took dinner here at his mother’s Tuesday.

The children of Bruno Dudei’s home are on the sick list since Christmas.

Mrs. Adolph Schlinsog and Mrs. Richard Braatz, who were very ill last week, are convalescing now.

Mrs. J.W. Lovell is alarmingly ill with pneumonia since Monday.

Dr. Ross delivered a fine boy at the Herman Albrich home in Lindsey Sunday morning.

Mr. W.D. Rose and Mrs. Willis Williams were Neillsville callers, Monday.

Ernest Sanger of Rockham, S.D. is visiting friends and relatives hereabouts.

Beth and Helen Free of Neillsville came over Monday and spent the day with friends.

P.J. Kemmeter and daughter Edna spent Sunday with Humbird friends.

Floyd Winn and Al Gergen went to Park Falls last week where both have employment.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Chapel and baby Zona Belle came home Friday from a month’s visit with his parents at Hollister, Mo.

Mrs. R.B. Johnson of Stevens Point came up last Friday and remained until Monday visiting between the homes of S.R. Davis and Mrs. Mary Marsh.

Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Marsh and son Hallam autoed over from Neillsville Sunday and took dinner with Mrs. Melvin Wright.

Pete Paulson and family autoed over from Neillsville Sunday and visited between Ross Paulson and Dan Rausch homes.

Mr. and Mrs. Dell Lovell and little son came down from Rice Lake last week Thursday and visited over Sunday at the Chas. Brooks home.

The Misses Clara Hubing and Gertrude Howard visited Marshfield friends New Years’.

Otis Ferrell of Chili came over Saturday and spent the time until Wednesday between the E.A. Beeckler and A.J. Knorr homes.

Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes and Mrs. Hannah Hughes and son Dan took New Years dinner at Fred Hankey’s.

Professor F.W. Spindler and wife of Stevens Point, are visiting the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Hatch near Chili.

Easter Sunday will this year fall on March 23, a date earlier than Easter has occurred since 1900, and will not occur that early again until 1925.

Principal Max Geimer spent New Year’s morning at Marshfield.

Edward Schroeder and family spent New Year’s at the Chas. Babcock home in Neillsville.

Chas. Wilke spent a couple of days at Neillsville last week with his first love, his steady, yes his mother.

Prof. and Mrs. Geimer, with their little son, spent Wednesday evening at the Jas. Hughes home.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Kurth entertained a house full of relatives and friends at dinner Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Otis Slocomb entertained a large party of relatives and friends at dinner New Years.

Ross Paulson came home from South Dakota Tuesday morning with another carload of horses.

John Sweet came down from Rice Lake last week and after a several days visit here went to Chili, Tuesday.

Davis Steele after suffering a couple of days with appendicitis was taken to Marshfield Tuesday morning and operated upon that afternoon.

Mrs. Fred Hohenstein of Alma Center, after a visit at Rob Strey’s and M.C. Thomas’ went home Tuesday.

Howard Wentworth came up from Winona Saturday and remained until Tuesday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rush Wentworth.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cramer went to Viola Friday night in response to intelligence of a relative’s serious illness.

Postmaster and Mrs. J.M. Tompkins entertained some 30 guests  at a New Year’s dinner, Wednesday.

Mrs. Henry Sternitzky went to Wausau last Monday in response to news of her daughter’s illness, who resides there.

Miss Gertrude Holmes, who came home from Hawthorne to spend the holidary vacation, went to Bethel Friday and remained over Sunday visiting friends and attending a teachers’ institute.

Fred Pawaelke, with Mrs. Fred Gassow and Mrs. John Wiezorek of Whitehall came Monday to spend the week at Chas. Neinas’.

Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter, her daughter Rose, and son Stanley, and Mrs. Myron Osgood and little daughter, accompanied Mrs. S.G. Schwarz home to Humbird last week Thursday and made an over Sunday visit.

Work wanted.  Man and wife would like to find steady work on a farm or in town - inquire of Ray M. Campbell, Granton.

Geo. Hart bought the Dr. Schwarz residence property here, Tuesday, Doc taking as party payment the Geo. Hart residence property just north of our office.

Warren Page left Wednesday morning for Los Angeles, Calif., to visit his daughter, Mrs. Ed Jacobson, who resides there.  He expects to spend the winter on the coast and if the country is to his liking he may settled there permanently.

The second youngest child of the Carl Retta children suffered a serious injury Christmas day by falling into a kettle of hot water which was left standing on the floor.  Though at first it was feared to be fatally injured, it is now apparently well on the road to early recovery.

Fred Wright made the sad trip to Genoa, Ill. Saturday to attend the funeral of a sister who died very suddenly Xmas night.  Their father died at his home in Oklahoma just the Saturday before and in consequence this sudden death seems doubly sad.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Converse, after many months absence in New York State, are home again at Melrose and came up last week Thursday for a visit among relatives and old friends here.

Scott Davis delightfully entertained the Masonic brethren at his home Tuesday evening at a birthday party.  The usual good time is reported by all.

Wm. Sherman, who formerly lived in the town of Lynn and who was recently convicted of adultery, was sentenced to two years in the state prison and Sheriff Bradford took him to Waupun last Monday.

The Misses Blanche Morris and Blanche Dickey of Neillsville came over Saturday and remained until Tuesday visiting at John Pietenpol’s.

Miss Hunt has resigned her position as assistant principal of our school, the resignation to take effect Jan. 1^st.  Miss Lillian Shapiro of Medford, a graduate of the Wis. University, has been hired by the board to fill her place.

Dan Rausch and Ed Sternitzky returned to Neillsville Monday noon to report for duty as jurors.  We are informed that the court calendar this term is the largest ever known in the history of Clark County.  We presume the taxes next year will be accordingly.

Helene Baer celebrated her eighth birthday by entertaining 34 young friends at a high noon dinner served by her mother, ably assisted by the Mesdames James Finnegan and Rush Wentworth, with the Misses Shirley Knorr and Beth Free.  Immediately after the dispatching of this excellent meal our genial livery man, Geo. J. Rose, was found in waiting with a huge "sleigh carry all" wherein there was ample room for each, and the bunch was given one of the very best sleigh rides ever.  Mr. Rose was sole guardian during the ride, but he would go to any length to see that the kids had a good time.  The little hostess was well remembered by each guests, presenting here with a pretty gift which will long remain lasting souvenirs of a pleasant day.
