Loyal Jordan is alarmingly ill with heart trouble. Neighbors and friends gathered there Thursday and assisted him in getting up a wood pile.
W.E. Zorn and W.W. Smith threshed their clover the first of the week. Reports have it that the crop is not very plentiful.
Now it is said that a Marshfield man killed 22 skunks in one log. Wonder what he drank before he started for the hunt.
Chas. Sanger of Rockham, S.D. recently killed two prairie wolves. The two law breakers were so busily engaged in a scrap ont eh highway that they did not notice the approaching automobile. Charles ran chances in breaking the speed limit and with a terrific crash succeeded in killing them both with his machine. He piled the two in this auto, ran to the county seat and go $80 bounty.
The next thing on the court calendar is to have a man pulled by his tracks. That’s going some.
Lew Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. Heath and daughter Effie visited at the Sherman Davis home last Sunday.
Neighbors and friends gathered at the Gordon Davis home one day last week and assisted him in getting up a wood pile.
Bill and Hank Grottke will leave for the woods near Tripoli about the first of next week.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Oens visited friends near Chili last Sunday.
On Saturday of last week our family cat was taken sick and Herman Ketel of Chili, the old faithful Katzen doctor was summoned. After his arrival he made desperate efforts to save the old family cat and injected 45 units of convulsion powders, but before this dealy poison had taken effect, old Liz had turned up her toes. Ketel and myself made a few suggestions in regard to her future life and her faithful friend Tom. Undoubtedly as long as cold weather prevails Tom will lead a moral life.
Now that we are informed by R. Peck that there isn’t anyone affected with the hook worm disease in Camp Comfort, we are of the opinion that some other worm has taken its place.
Joe Bird, the Michigan visitor, transacted business in Chili Saturday.
Chas. Schuster and Jay Brown are cutting wood in the Chauncy Tarbox place.
Otto Kempin is wearing glasses now and he claims that he can see more and feels better.
Wages are cut from 20 to 30 percent in Chicago. Does that astonish you?
