Greenwood (14 February 1963)

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jollivette who spent some time with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jollivette, in Arkansas, continued their trip on to Arizona, where they will spend the winter.

Thursday supper guests at the William Kuester home were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath.

The Greenwood Satellites 4-H club held a meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Speich. The meeting was called to order by the president, Marion Speich. The pledge to the flag was led by Ervin Kollsmanberger and the 4-H pledge by Dallas Wuethrich.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A treasurer’s report was given. Roll call was taken. There were 16 members present.  There were two new members, Gary Bukovec and Patricia Kollsmanberger.  We discussed and decided to take part in the music contest, which is in March.  We also discussed having a safety scrapbook for the club.

We received a card of thanks for a Christmas gift from Leander Schneider, our former wood working leader.

LeRoy Kesler, our new wood working leader was present at the meeting and talked to wood working boys.

Connie Schultz gave a health talk.  Marion Speich gave her speech, which she won first on in the speaking contest.

The next meeting will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schultz on February 25. A lunch was served following the meeting. - Connie Schultz club reporter

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Schultz, who were married recently in Belvidere, Ill., spent a few days here with his uncle, Alvin Schultz and family. The young couple left for an air force base in Missouri, where he will be stationed as a medic.

A film strip on "Partners in Service" was shown at the "Fellowship night" Sunday evening in Grace Methodist Church.  Refreshments were served.

Members of the Home Interest Homemakers club were scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Truman Hill.  Mrs. Lee Corey was to be the co-hostess.  Mrs. Leon Kuester presented the lesson on, "Fish Cookery".

M/Sgt. and Mrs. Keith Stewart and children, Mark and Luann of Omaha, Nebr., spent from Friday until Monday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.  Other guests over the weekend at the Stewart home were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and son of Colby.

Mrs. Elery Moberg visited in Neillsville with her father, James Redmond, who fractured his shoulder in a fall last Thursday.  He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

Lois and Avis Moberg spent the weekend in Withee with their sister, Mrs. Charles Klapatauskas, and her family.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon and Mrs. William Neuenfeldt spent Friday afternoon with Mrs. Ada Borham of Stevens Point, who is spending some time at the home of her brother, Walter Needham of Longwood.  Mrs. Borham is a former resident of Greenwood.

Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Decker were M/Sgt. and Mrs. Keith Stewart and family of Omaha, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and family of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and son, Dean of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Esper Jepsen, who is a patient at Memorial Hospital in Appleton.  They were accompanied by their son and daughter, M/Sgt. Keith Stewart, and Mrs. Gary Rohde.

The Christian Family movement group met Sunday evening at the Donald Fontaine home.  Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindner, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bushman, Mr. and Mrs. William Kuchenbecker and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Plunkett.  The next meeting will be held February 24 at the Patrick Plunkett home.
