Hansen, Viggio A. (4 APR 1893 - 1 APR 1958)
V.A. Hansen, 63, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), founder and owner of the Withee Office Supply Co. which operated in association with his son, Roger, died of a heart attack at Colby shortly after 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 1958.
Hansen suffered the attack in his car after making a business call at the office of Joseph Mullen, Colby elementary school principal. The car went out of control and backed into a tree in the schoolyard. Walter Mueller, school custodian, who was at work in the yard, witnessed the mishap and found Hansen slumped in the car seat.
A physician was called and the stricken man was taken to the Colby fire department where oxygen was administered, but Hansen failed to respond to the treatment.
Hansen had been a lifelong resident of Withee, where he establish his office supply business at the age of 17. He is survived by his wife, a son, Roger, who made his home in Chippewa Falls; a brother, William W. Hansen, president of the Wis. Teachers College at Stevens Point, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Riesetter, Harriman, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Clayton Nielsen officiated.
