Nienow, Gary A. (March 10, 1939 - September 14, 2011)
Gary A. Nienow, age 72, of the town of Frankfurt, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday evening, September 14, 2011.
Gary was born March 10, 1939, on the family farm in the town of
Frankfurt, a son of Herbert and Julia (Gehrke) Nienow. He was a
graduate of Colby High School.
On July 23, 1960, Gary was united in marriage to Audrey Baumgart at
the Peace Lutheran Church in the town of Frankfurt.
Gary worked beside his parents on their town of Frankfurt dairy
farm until 1978 when they sold the farm. He then worked as a self
employed building contractor in various locations throughout the
state. In retirement Gary taught himself the art of chainsaw
carving and it became one of his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed
woodworking and spending long days in the woods. Gary was an avid
Packer fan and was in the process of restoring a 1947 Willys
Jeep.
Gary was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Audrey Nienow, town of
Frankfort, children, Ronald (Connie Birch) Nienow, Abbotsford,
Jackie (Jim) Asplund, Stratford, Kim Nienow, Stratford and Rick
Nienow, Stratford and one grandson, Kolton Nienow. Two sisters, a
twin sister, Nancy (Allen) Schraufnagel of Arizona and Kay (Ken)
Hansen of St Germain, WI further survive Gary.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 17,
2011, at Peace Lutheran Church in the town of Frankfurt. Ronald
Tomlinson will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from
9:30-11:00 a.m.at the church on Saturday. The Maurina-Schilling
Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
