Stasko, John & Diane (Century Farm - 2011)

Century Farm -- Diane Frances & John David Stasko -- J & J Stasko Dairy -- Joseph and Roseelas Stasko were the original owners who had dairy cattle, chickens and pigs on the farm. Their son John bought land from Joseph. John and his wife had four children. One of them, John, still milks cows on the farm today. They built a milking parlor in 1950 with four stalls. It was one of the first milking parlors to be put in. The parlor still is used today. They started out with 20 to 24 cows and now have 35. They live in the original house on 220 acres of woodland with 100 acres under plow. During the depression years, the unusually large house was home to many people who were down on their luck. The family allowed people to live in the house in exchange for working on the farm.
