Mrs. Albert Davis entertained the "T" Club last Friday.

Mrs. J.M. Tompkins entertained the circle, Wednesday.

Clark Waterman of Chili spent Sunday at E.A. Beeckler’s.

Frances and Stella Davis spent Friday at Chas. Kempin’s in Chili.

Mrs. M. Hasz went to Lavalle Friday to attend the funeral of an uncle.

Miss Bessie Beeckler returned to Sheboygan and her school duties there, Saturday.

Mrs. Gustie Breed went to Chili Sat. to visit at her brother F.L. Waterman’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cramer came home from their trip to Viola, Friday morning.

Mrs. Wm. Wallace of Augusta visited Chas. Lowery’s last week and went home on Friday.

Chas. Brooks came home from Stevens Point on the early train, Saturday.

Mrs. August Maxam and daughter Dora of York went to Lomira Monday.

Henry Sternitzky went to Wausau Monday to join his wife and visit his son Robert’s family.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huntley came home on Monday from a 5 day visit at Stevens Point.

Mrs. Will Meddaugh came home on Monday from Bancroft where she went Friday to attend the funeral of a nephew.

Mrs. Schwantes came down from Spencer Monday to visit her son Fred and his family.

Mrs. T. Johnson of Frazer, after a 10 day visit at her son A.F.’s, went home on Monday.

Mrs. Gardner McClaflin and son Merrill, after a visit at Rice Davis’, went home to Arpin, Monday.

Miss Hazel Brooks came home from Minneapolis last week upon learning of her maternal grandmother’s serious illness.

Mrs. Zubia Wilson and three children of Black River Falls, after a 9 day visit with the David Steele family, went home Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rice Davis entertained 13 Bethel people at New Year’s dinner.

Dance at Beaver Hall Saturday night.

Mrs. John Hefty spent Tuesday at her son John’s in Chili.

Renetta Witte had dental work done at Neillsville Saturday.

Miss Bertha Barth had dental work done at Neillsville Tuesday.

Mrs. Eva Canfield and Mrs. Chas. Starks and Mrs. Rella Osgood were Neillsville visitors, Wednesday.

Mrs. Chas. Neinas and son Arthur spent Wednesday at Marshfield.

Miss Lena Crowell, who is working for Mrs. Walter Moldenhauer, returned from Chili, Wednesday.

Miss Myrtle Knorr is at madison pursuing the study of music again, since Wednesday.

Miss Jessie Morris is again at Hart’s store after a couple of weeks visit with her parents and others at Hayward.

Miss Elinor Eubanks of Hayward was a guest at the A.J. Knorr home a couple of days this week.

Ruth Schlinsog, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schlinsog, went home on Monday after a week’s visit at Grandpa Wm. Schlinsog’s.

Calvert Scoles, Guy Hales and Raymond Brooks, after the holiday recess, returned to Madison, Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude McGinnis and 4 children, after a week’s visit between the Ed and Robert Strey and John Dietrich hoems, returned to St. Paul, Monday.

Will Geisler came back fro Crandon Friday and left for a business trip through Greenwood, Withee and Owen, Saturday.

Pearl and Merton Davis, after a visit at Will Benedict’s, went home to Marshfield Saturday.

Mrs. Eugene Crandall, Chas. Neinas, L.E. Moh, Mr. and Mrs. Gs Bergeman and Ben Beeckler spent Saturday afternoon at Marshfield.

Mrs. Davis Steele spent Sunday morning with her husband at the Marshfield hospital.  She reports him doing nicely.

Miss Laura Gerzemehle went to Weyauwega, Saturday.

The Misses Eberhardt, Potter, Bennet, and Shapiro of the corps of teachers returned here after the holiday recess, Saturday.

Miss Lila Cattanach, who teaches at Abbotsford, was a guest of Mrs. John Rausch here a couple of days last week.

Mrs. Wittke and sister-in-law Edna Wittke, after a visit at Gus Reichert’s, went home to Neillsville Sunday.

Ben Beeckler arrived home last Friday from the Saskatchewan District of Canada.

Harold Rose went to La Crosse Saturday.  He has re-entered the business college there to complete his studies.

Alvin Reichert left for Chicago last Tuesday night to visit his brother Carl and to spend a two week vacation in that city.

Chas. and Henrietta Glewen of Brandon arrived here Monday to visit at their uncle Johan Vande Berg’s.

Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog Jr. and daughter Mabel, after a visit at the Wm. Schlinsog Sr. home, returned to Greenwood Monday.

Mrs. Wm. Schwantes of Spencer and Mrs. Emil Pockat of Marion are guests at the Chas. Greeler’s since Tuesday.

E.H. Knickle went to Milwaukee Tuesday to attend the cheese makers convention, and Mrs. Knickle is spending the week at Campbellsport.

Val Wenzel and daughter Alice of Withee, after a week’s visit at Ernest Lee’s, went home Tuesday.

Frank Johnson of Washburn left for Stevens Point Tuesday where he is attending Business College.

Mrs. Fred Wright and baby left for sycamore, Ill., Sunday in response to news that her mother had suffered a slight stroke of paralysis on New Year’s Day.

Mr. Lizzie Hollenbach and aughter, Miss Rose Hollenbach of Eau Claire, who had been visiting relatives at Almond, stopped off here Thursday and remained until Saturday, guests of Geo. Hollenbach’s.

Fred Wright came home from Genoa, Ill. Friday.  His mother accompanied him up and will make an extended visit.

Mrs. August Scholtz, accompanied by her granddaughter Elsie Kurth, went to Milwaukee Friday where Mrs. Scholtz, who is almost blind, is to have a cataract removed from one of her eyes.  They will likely be absent two months.

Kemmeter’s Mill was put into operation last Monday.  Bolts are coming in quite lively and in all, about 2,500 cords have been contracted for.  The Luethe Co. is buying bolts in Neillsville for Mr. Kemmeter this year, and these will be shipped in here by rail.

Mrs. Llewlyn Beecher and children accompanied her sister Miss Bessie Frost home to Stevens Point on Monday to spend some time with relatives.  Mr. Beecher, being absent at Prairie du Sac where he has recently accepted a position and where they will join him later.

Now that we have parcels post it behooves the home merchants to advertise.  It will begin a new era in which a greater volume of business than ever before will be done with the aid of advertising.  Our merchants have a most excellent chance to extend their business and it is up to them to boost delivery of goods in this territory.

The home dealer is in a position to render a better service than the district catalogue houses; he can make quicker deliveries, and on the average he handles a better quality of merchandise.

Mrs. W.S. Davis is on the sick list since early this week, suffering with la gripped.

Miss Lydia Breseman went to Milwaukee Saturday for an extended stay.

Reinhold Viergutz returned Tuesday from a three week visit with his sister Hattie at Milwaukee.  While there he showed his ability as a dancer, capturing the first prize, an $18 couch, at one of the dances.

H.A. Bright, who recently underwent an operation for cancer of the stomach, died at his home in Black River Falls last week Thursday.  Mr. Bright was one of the old time lumber men and loggers, and although a resident of Jackson County, he was greatly interested in Clark County Real Estate.  The funeral was held at the Falls last Sunday under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a member.  Deceased was over 80 years old and well known to many of our readers.
