Hart, Elcena (5 September 1875 - 7 March 1963)
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home for Mrs. Elcena Hart, 87, who died March 7, at the Sunset Nursing Home in Fairchild.
The Rev. Lloyd Mauer of the Methodist Church officiated and burial was made in the Colfax cemetery.
Mrs. Hart, the former Elcena Freeman, was born September 5, 1875, in Fairchild. She attended the Fairchild School and lived there until her marriage on September 5, 1888, to the late George Hart, which took place in Humbird.
Soon after their marriage they moved to Granton and a few years later returned to Humbird, where they operated a store for many years. Following the sale of their store they moved to Colfax.
Following the death of her husband in 1939, Mrs. Hart made her home with her son until five years ago, when she went to the nursing home to make her home.
Mrs. Hart is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Essie) Davis, Neillsville, and Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Chapel of Marshfield; and a son, Roy of Eau Claire. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
