Hablewitz, Joseph C. (18 MAY 1874 - 14 JUN 1958)

 

Joseph C. Hablewitz, 84, a resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 14 years, passed away at the Stanley Hospital on Saturday morning, June 14, 1958, after a lingering illness.

 

The deceased was born in Manitowoc Co. on May 18, 1874.  He was a stone mason for many years.  In 1902 he was united in marriage to Clara Drucks at Hewitt, Wis.  He moved from Hewitt to Stratford in 1916 and came to Thorp in 1944.

 

He is survived by his wife, Clara, five sons, Edward and Walter of Milwaukee, George and Arnold of Wausau and Irvin of Menasha; three daughters, Edna, Mrs. Irvin Jacobson of Neenah, Olive, Mrs. Raleigh Fisher of Thorp and Delores, Mrs. James Vick of Schofield; two brothers, Anton Hablewitz of Milwaukee and Rhinehart Hablewitz, 40 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  His parents, two brothers and one son, Carl, preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Herbert Hoffman at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church here at 9:30 Monday morning, June 16, with interment following in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were David Vick, Roy Hablewitz, John Hablewitz, Robert Jacobson, Walter Hablewitz Jr., and James Hablewitz, all grandsons of the deceased.

 

Relatives and friends from out of town who were her to attend the funeral services of Joseph Hablewitz on Monday were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hablewitz and son Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hablewitz and son Walter Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hablewitz, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hablewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Drucks of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Drucks, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jacobson of Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. George Hablewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hablewitz and sons, John and Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. James Vick and sons, David and Gerard, Mr. and Mrs. John Kebel and son John Jr., Mrs. Neil Rumsteck, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Berg, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Danst, Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Dunst, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Meidad, Mr. George Beilke, Mr. and Mrs. George Arnold, Mr. Fred Egner, all of Wausau; Mrs. Allie Newberger of Stevens Point; Mrs. Victor Hablewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Trainer, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Jndra, all of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Roman Klein of Sheboygan Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Mil Hablewitz of Shawano and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Meyer and son of Stratford.
