Schumacher, Robert (Medical Award - 1963)
Robert Schumacher of Madison, a former resident of Granton and a senior at the University of Wisconsin medical school, has been honored by being presented the Michael J. Carey award at the Foundation Day banquet of the Phi Chi Medical fraternity. This award is presented annually to a member of the professional fraternity who has been selected as an outstanding senior classman. It is based on scholastic proficiency and devotion to scientific study.
Mr. Schumacher, son of Mrs. Adela Schumacher of Neillsville, will be graduated from the medical school in June and will have a chance to decide in the coming weeks as to where he will complete his internship. In 1961 he held an externship in Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, and in 1962 was in the Marshfield hospital.
Mr. Schumacher is married. He and his wife reside in Madison.
