Mix, Ralph Stanley (5 August 1920 - 24 March 1963)
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home for Ralph Mix, 42 of Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died Sunday of a self-inflicted gun shot wound. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer of the Methodist Church officiated and burial will be made in Paintsville, Ky.
Ralph Stanley Mix, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Mansfield Mix, was born August 5, 1920, in White Heath, Ill. He received his education in Illinois and in 1940 entered the army. He served in the Pacific, in North Africa and with the flying Tigers in China. On September 17, 1945, he was discharged from service.
On October 14, 1944, he was married to Katherina Van Hoose in Nippa, Ky. Following his discharge from service he worked for the T. W. A. airlines in Chicago and was later transferred to Miami, Fla., where he worked for the Taca Airlines until April, 1961; when the family moved onto a farm in the Town of Levis.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, John 16, and David 3, both at home; a sister, Helen Mix, and a brother, Robert Mix, both of Bloomington, Ill.
The body was taken Wednesday morning to Kentucky.
