Ylvisaker, Mary Jo Ann (Marriage - 23 March 1963)
Miss Mary Jo Ann Ylvisaker of Oconto Falls, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Ylvisaker of Neillsville, became the bride of Abool Hassan Zoroufy of Teheran, Iran, Saturday in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Mr. Rabe in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.
Baskets of white carnations adorned the altar for the wedding ceremony.
Seventy-five guests were present as Mr. Ylvisaker gave his daughter in Marriage. She wore a street length dress of white satin, styled with three-quarter length sleeves. She wore matching accessories and carried a bouquet of white carnations and white roses.
Mrs. Larry Wendt of Granton was her matron-of-honor, and wore a blue street-length dress.
Mike Heshmatpour, a native of Teheran and a student at Wisconsin State College in Oshkosh, was bestman.
Traditional wedding music was played and the Rev. Mr. Rabe sang, "The Lord’s Prayer".
Following the ceremony a reception for 75 guests was held in the church parlors.
The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and the State College at Stevens Point. She presently is teaching music in the Oconto schools. The groom is a student at Oshkosh.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Zoroufy are residing at 633A High Street, Oshkosh.
Attending the wedding from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Ylvisaker, Mr. and Mrs. August Selk, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Clausen, Mrs. Robert Drescher and Mrs. Larry Wendt. Other guests were the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Alseth of Stoughton.
