Neeb, LaVaun Rowene (Marriage - 23 March 1963)
Miss LaVaun Rowene Neeb of Dodge Center, Minn., became the bride of Jack Duane Heikkinen of Eveleth, Minn., in a double ring ceremony performed March 23 by the Rev. Paul Doering in the Loyal Methodist Church. The church altar was adorned with bouquets of red and white gladioli.
Mr. Neeb gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired in a floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace over satin styled with a very full bouffant skirt, with two scalloped insertions of tulle bordered with sequins and featuring a cathedral train. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a scalloped lace neckline with sequins and a dropped V waistline in front and back. Full length sleeves came to a point at the wrists. A crown of crystal and Bargot pearls sat high on her head and a long flowing fingertip veil cascaded from the crown. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and red roses.
Mrs. Neil Neeb, sister-in-law of the bride, was her matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. LeRoy Wiirre, sister of the groom, of Eveleth, Minn.; Mrs. Walter Wetzel, sister of the bride, of Neillsville; and Mrs. James Ritacco, the groom’s sister of Eveleth.
Miss Karla Mae Neeb, three-year-old niece of the bride, was flower girl. Neil Neeb of Loyal was bestman. The groomsmen were LeRoy Wiirre, Walter Wetzel and James Ritacco. Duane Wiirre, three-year-old nephew of the groom, was ringbearer. Usherettes were Misses Patricia and Peggy Heikkinen, sisters of the groom, who wore gold brocaded satin dresses.
A dinner followed the ceremony in the church basement; a reception was held at the Neeb home and a wedding dance was held in the evening.
The bride is a 1954 graduate of the Loyal High School and a graduate of Stout State College. She has been Dodge County Home Agent since September, 1958.
Mr. Heikkinen is attending Winona State College and will graduate in June with a degree in industrial arts. He served in the army from 1958 to 1960. He is doing practice teaching at the Kellogg Junior High School, Rochester, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Heikkinen will reside at 108 11th St. N. E., Rochester, Minn., until the groom graduates. They plan to move to northern Minnesota, where he will work during the summer months.
