Keller, Shirley May (Marriage - 6 April 1963)
Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday, uniting in marriage Miss Shirley May Keller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Keller of Neillsville and Robert Martin Simonson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Simonson of Wittenberg. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at a double ring ceremony in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church here. The altar was adorned with Easter Lilies and baskets of green foliage and candelabra.
Two hundred guests wee present as Mr. Keller gave his daughter in marriage. For the occasion the bride was attired in a floor length gown styled with a white brocade skirt and white satin bodice. A white satin train fell from the back waist and a fingertip veil of white silk was attached to a pearl crown headpiece. She carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid.
Mrs. Joanne Bessette of Clintonville served as matron-of-honor and Carol Schmid of Oak Park, Ill., was bridesmaid. They wore green street length dresses and pill box hats to match. They carried long stemmed yellow roses.
Gart Maas of Eau Claire was bestman. Larry Keller of Neillsville served as groomsman and ushers were James Keller and David Benson.
Kendall Smith sang "O Perfect Love" and "the Twenty-third Psalm," accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehman.
A reception was held at the bride’s home and a supper was served in the dining hall of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School, the Luther Hospital School of Nursing, and in June 1961, received her degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin. She has been a member of the teaching staff at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire for the last 18 months.
After April 15, Mr. and Mrs. Simonson will reside at 521 Lincoln Ave., Eau Claire.
Among those attending the wedding were Kenneth Keller, brother of the bride from Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; and relatives and friends from Wittenberg, Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, Black River Falls, Whitehall, Chicago, Ill., Andalusia, Ill., Britt, Ia., Marshfield, Chippewa Falls, Stratford and Menomonee Falls.
