Jessick, Phyllis (26 JUL 1958)
A lovely wedding took place on Saturday, July 26, 1958, when Phyllis Jessick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jessick of Boyd, and Edward Turek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turek of Gilman, exchanged wedding vows at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Stanley. The Rev. George Mathieu officiated at the nuptial mass. Mrs. Clarence Thorpe played the traditional wedding music as the couple pronounced their double ring vows at 10 o’clock.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore imported rosepoint lace and gossamer sheer tulle over satin fashioned with a Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and seed pearls. The fitted bodice featured long tapering sleeves, cascading tiers of lace over tulle with the top tier falling in graceful points over tulle added tot eh bouffance of the floor length skirt. Her fingertip veil of pure silk illusion was held in place with a tiara embellished with pearls, sequins and rhinestones. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses attached to white satin streamers. Her double strand pearl choker and matching earrings were gifts of the groom.
The bride chose her sister, Miss Dianne Jessick of Marshfield for the role of maid of honor. Her gown was of orchid lace and net over taffeta in floor length. The fitted bodice was styled with a matching lace bolero and tiny net ruffles detailed the very full skirt. She wore a matching looped sisal hat and carried yellow and white carnations adorned in white lace fan with yellow satin streamers.

Their gowns were styled identically as the one worn by the maid of honor, only in yellow. They also wore matching yellow looped sisal hats and carried orchid and white carnations adorned in white lace fans with orchid satin streamers. The aids wore pearl chokers and earrings, gifts of the bride.
Louis turek of West Bend, Wis., was his brother’s best man. Donald Dobrynski, Thorp, cousin of the groom, and Phillip Kondrasuk, Gilman, friend of the groom, were groomsmen. Ushers were Francis Derks and Kenneth Micke, friends of the couple. The men wore white jackets and black trousers and red carnation boutonnieres.
The bride’s mother chose a light blue brocaded faille sheath with white accessories and a corsage of red roses and white carnations. The groom’s mother was attired in an aqua printed silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses and white carnations. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Jessick, was present in a grey and pink printed silk dress and a corsage of pink roses and white carnations.
A wedding dinner was served at St. Mary’s School Hall with covers laid for forty guests. A reception was held at the city auditorium from two until five o’clock with over four hundred guests attending. Mrs. Frank Folczek, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Gerald Light, a classmate, were in charge of the guest book.
The bride graduated from Stanley High School and vocational school at Eau Claire, and was employed at the Telephone Co. at Eau Claire. The groom attended schools at Gilman.
They will make their home in Gilman.
