Humbird (25 April 1963)

 

Red Measles are again going around among the younger children, Daniel Wallace, Jr., and the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lund are among those who have them.

 

Timmy Fitzmaurice came home Tuesday afternoon from the Neillsville Memorial Hospital and is none the worse from having taken too many aspirin tablets.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Markham drove to Mosinee Saturday and were overnight guests of Mrs. Elsie Dowl and Sunday of Mrs. Fay Taylor.

 

Our little neighborhood is happy to see Grandma Bemis back in her home, which is being remodeled making it more comfortable for her.

 

Mrs. Mary Iffland of New London, who has been visiting in the Henry Laffe home, left Tuesday for the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Haag, in rural Melrose.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jean Bishop have been quite sick with flu. They are now improving.

 

Miss Lucille Dunn and mother, of Winona spent the weekend at their farm home here.

 

Mrs. Lawrence Emer of the Fairview community had major surgery Thursday in Black River Falls.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sliter of Merrillan called Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lucy Gephart.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Parks and children of Marshfield were weekend guest of her mother, Mrs. Edith Smith. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Denk and family of Decorah, Ia., joined the family group for the day.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chet Bailey spent Sunday evening at the Archie Fradenburg home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Senske and children of St. Paul, Henry Spielman, St. Croix Falls, and Mike Kirby and son of St. Paul were guests Sunday at the Archie Kirby home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnson and Clay, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fitzmaurice, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Raymond of Eau Claire and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Phillips of Merrillan were guests Sunday at the Jake Lightfoot home.

 

Mrs. Nellie Fenny, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Fenny and two children of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. George Braaton of Barron were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Squires.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Claire Enerson and Mary Jo of North Branch were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Matti.  David Fitzmaurice of Avalon called in the afternoon.  He had visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzmaurice.

 

Harry Hart was taken ill Friday, and Saturday afternoon was taken to the Neillsville Memorial Hospital for treatment.  He expects to be able to come home today (Thursday).
