Sneider, Michael Sr. (29 SEP 1870 - 20 AUG 1958)
Michael Sneider Sr., 87, passed away at the Owen Nursing Home on Aug. 20, 1958.
Mr. Sneider was born Sept. 29, 1870 in Lithuania. He went to Sheboygan, Wis., in 1898 and resided there for 3 months, he then came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). and lived on a farm for 32 years. Twenty-eight years ago he retired and moved to the City of Thorp and resided there until the last two years when he stayed with his daughter, Anna Urban. The last three months he was in the Owen Nursing Home. In 1898 he married Anna Kurtinaitis who preceded him in death July 10, 1954. One daughter, Ursula Gerizadas died Oct. 18, 1922 and one brother George died in 1936.
He leaves to mourn, two sons, Michael of Spokane, Wash., John, address unknown; two daughters, Anna Urban, Thorp, Helen Simkus, Chicago, two sisters, Magdiline and Mary in Lithuania, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sat., Aug. 23 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Father Connie Chilicki officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Stanley Mamayek, Joe Zulzeski, Stanley Wargolet, Albin Kurtinaitis, Gedmon Mikolainis, and George Yalowitz.
Those attending the funeral were: Mrs. Helen Simkus, Mrs. Bernice Stegwell, and David, Robert and Raymond Halagara, all of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Sneider, Jr. of Spokane, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Leon Klugiewicz and family of Milwaukee, Mrs. Joseph Deltova and son of Owen, Mrs. Joseph Burdus and daughter of Lublin.
