Lew, Eleanore Dolores (10 January 1933 - 17 October 2011)

Eleanore Dolores Lew, age 78, of Gilman, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Gilman Care Center.  Eleanore was born January 10, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Walter & Sophie (Garczynski) Twardowski. She grew up in Chicago, and on September 29, 1951, was united in marriage to Stanley Lew. They resided in Thorp, later moving to Gilman, where they farmed with Eleanore also working for Thorp Finance and making Christmas wreaths during the holiday season.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Lew, of Gilman; five children: Stanley Jr. & Mark (Mary Ann) Lew, both of Thorp, George (Melody) Lew of Ashland, Laurie (Richard) Hoehn of Jump River, and Linda (Larry) Olejnichak of Gilman; plus 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Eugene Twardowski.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, with Fr. John Long officiating.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday.  Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman is assisting the family with arrangements.
